What you’ll do

Our Consumer team is looking for a passionate, hard-working individual to join our investment team as part of a two-year Associate program. Our associates conduct industry research, source potential investment opportunities, perform rigorous due diligence, and support our portfolio companies. We are technical investors that like to dive deep into segments of the market where we believe technology can be most transformative. Our team-first approach means associates are expected to not only investigate themes by talking to companies, potential founders, and domain experts, but also effectively share their findings by modeling out scenarios, testing assumptions, synthesizing their learnings, and iterating with the team’s feedback. Our associates gain exposure to our networks and deal processes, and have the opportunity to source, underwrite, and support multiple consumer investments each year. Specifically, you will:

• Learn about new technologies in the consumer space (commerce, media, sports, gaming, etc.)
• Talk with experts about hard problems and potential futures
• Crunch numbers, analyze business fundamentals, build useful models
• Make smart, informed bets you are constantly learning from
• Build new things and constantly iterate on them
• Work with and contribute to a small, tightknit team culture

What’s required

• A strong curiosity to understand everything about a particular company, industry, or theme
• Fundamental thinkers who pride themselves on being knowledgeable, resourceful, and able to learn complex concepts quickly by asking the right questions – and then quickly find creative answers to those questions
• The ability to communicate complex ideas or viewpoints in a clear way
• Strong interpersonal skills that allow you to build deep relationships with founders and other investors quickly
• A strong “toolkit” (familiarity with SaaS platforms such as Slack, Affinity, and Notion)
• Excellent attention to detail and strong project management skills
• The ability to “elevate the room” through your work ethic, curiosity, and attitude
• A team player mentality that allows you to contribute to a thriving team culture

The annual base salary for this role is $243,000 (USD), which does not include discretionary bonus compensation or our comprehensive benefits package. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things.
