Team members of the Chief Engineer Office are expected to exemplify what it means to be a highly-effective cross-functional individual contributor. They are expected to be the go-to people for their area of specialization by having built respect and trust within Woven Team members' work is expected to have multiplicative effects on the work of other teams within Arene, while cutting across organizational boundaries and ensuring that Woven delivers the right thing, with high quality, on time, at the right cost.


You will report to the Head of Arene Architecture, and this role's workplace type is hybrid - you will work in the office at least 3 days per week.


WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a technical expert in framework development, who is able to architect onboard frameworks, hardware abstractions, services, and associated development tooling for mobility where safety and security are critical components.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Architect onboard frameworks, hardware abstractions, services, and associated development tooling used to develop modern safety-critical vehicle software, while supporting legacy use cases where necessary
  • Support the engineering team in implementing the architecture via direct code contributions
  • Collaborate with other architects to align with development platform and onboard vehicle components
  • Liaise with suppliers and OEMs to ensure vehicle frameworks meet goals
  • Advise internal service organization to help suppliers and OEMs adopt new frameworks
  • Participate in hiring and up-skilling of technical experts
  • Foster a world-class engineering culture with a focus on safety & state of the art development while ensuring individual opinions are heard and valued

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • Demonstrable customer and partner management experience
  • Experience developing quality development frameworks, abstractions, or services for large numbers of developers
  • Extensive experience with modern software development, particularly in C and C++ with an emphasis on engineering best practices in a safety environment
  • Experienced engineering practitioner in a commercial production environment
  • Empathetic leader capable of understanding and supporting individual potential
  • A leader capable of enabling a culture with no compromise on safety or security
  • Desire to work in a multicultural teams and openness to various cultures
  • Demonstrable experience working with modern software development practices
  • Mindset for ownership, growth, and quality

NICE TO HAVES:

  • Deploying modern frameworks, abstractions, or services at scale
  • Knowledge of communication networks, automotive OS, over-the-air updates, device drivers, or similar
  • Japanese communication skills
  • Knowledge of quality management systems
  • Automotive industry engineering
  • Security-conscious software design and implementation
  • Familiarity with MISRA, Autosar, CERT, ISO 26262, SOTIF, or other standards for security and functional safety
