As a VAT Compliance Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting tax compliance in the EMEA region. The Brno VAT team consists today of 14 people, it has been steadily growing in the last 6 years and is expected to continue to grow further into the future.
The position is GREAT opportunity for a professional interested in gaining tax experience in an international company and in being part of EXCITING projects conducted in close collaboration local finance people in different EMEA locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Extract reports, analyze the data, prepare VAT, EC Sales/Purchase Listings, control statements and Intrastat returns
- Review the data and perform standardized checks and ad-random checks to find potential issue
- Perform reconciliation of balance sheet accounts for VAT, maintain the central archive of all VAT related compliance data
- Sustain an excellent relationship with finance, accounting teams, tax advisors and other relevant stakeholders to ensure efficient and effective partnership
- Support ad-hoc projects, VAT advisory team, VAT manager if needed, training and internal advice to the business
Qualifications
- University degree in Economics, Tax, Accounting, Law or similar
- Tax work experience (local or EU legislation), VAT/tax internships or tax-related projects at the university is PLUS bot not mandatory
- Fluent English, second foreign language (German, Spanish, Italian) is a big advantage
- Good knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel)
- Strong sense of responsibility and ownership, pro-activeness, ability to introduce own ideas
- Ability to build and effectively manage relationships with other team members and partner
