We are seeking a Manager, Value Stream at our Fremont, CA manufacturing site to join our dynamic team of industry leading experts. 

Summary:

This role will have clear responsibility for the success of a value stream within the Production Operations facility. As the VSM, you will focus the organization on the consistent, successful on-time delivery of product by coordinating activities with Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, Maintenance and Commercial while leading a team that continuously strives for improvements driving customer satisfaction and improving cost.

Essential Functions:

  • Key Performance Indicators (KPI) targets and consistently achieve targets through planning and execution of Lean Tools such as Problem Solving (PSP). Methodology, Standard Work (SW) and daily management. Report the results on daily, weekly, and monthly cadence.
  • Partners with other team members to execute financial commitment of the business.
  • Based on customer order requirements, plans operations for fabrication and assembly of products.
  • Ensures efficient and effective manufacturing methods are used that are compatible to available machines/equipment.
  • Manages, directs, and coordinate work with cross functional resources to achieve results; specifically, Quality, Process Engineering and Maintenance.
  • Short-term goals include, but are not limited to, on-time delivery, cost of sales, quality, gross margin, yield, throughput, efficiencies and human resources throughout the Value Stream.
  • Analyzes business metrics/trends and drives people and process improvements. (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Employee Engagement.)
  • Is a Lean/Six Sigma champion (standard work, lead-time, quality, etc.)
  • Responsible for ensuring personal and company compliance with all Federal, State, local and company regulations, policies and procedures for Health, Safety and Environmental compliance.
  • Responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resource needed to do so are available and in good condition.
  • Leads the root cause and corrective action process for quality issues across the catheter manufacturing. Works cooperatively with other departments to identify, contain, document, implement and communicate root cause and corrective actions for quality issues.
  • Identify manufacturing process and equipment improvement opportunities, implement solutions, and ensure benefits are realized and results effectively communicated.
  • Write / Review internal technical reports.
  • Lead Cost Improvement Projects (CIP) by identifying opportunities for cost reduction and process enhancements.
  • Manage and trace Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) metrics, initiating and leading projects to reduce COPQ.
  • Act as the primary technical contact for clients, manage technical discussions, and maintain client relationships.
  • Support product transfers and manage calibration activities, including budgeting for calibration expenses.
  • Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other engineering discipline.
  • A minimum of 6 years progressive operations/manufacturing experience
  • Lean/Six Sigma green or black belt experience a plus.
  • Strong project management skills including the ability to prioritize, balance and manage multiple efforts with strong results/goal orientation.
  • Solid analytical skills and solution-driven thinking; collects and researches data; makes good decision based upon a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience and judgment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to convey information and ideas in a variety of media. Tactful and confident at all levels, internal and external.
