The Vaccine Medical Science Liaison will provide scientific information to healthcare professionals, maintain relationships with key opinion leaders, and support medical education initiatives. Collaborating with cross-functional teams at Pfizer, the MSL will engage in scientific training and contribute to the strategic medical plan for vaccines in the Andean Cluster, ensuring compliance with regulations and internal policies.

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) will be in charge of delivering recent scientific information to a broader group of healthcare professionals and will participate in the development and implementation of the strategic medical plan for the assigned vaccine's portfolio in the Andean Cluster. Will have a constant cross functional interaction with different members of the Vaccines related areas within Pfizer to share relevant insights deriving from the scientific exchange with HCPs, KOLs and Academic/Scientific institutions. Will actively engage in educational and scientific activities that support the strategic direction of vaccines exclusively from the medical point of view. Therefore, MSL will be exposed to key decision makers both within the organization and outside the company. As catalysts of collaboration between Pfizer and HCPs, MSL will be a key player to transmit updated information, research resources and business intelligence.

  • Provide recent scientific information to HCPs/KOLs to increase the knowledge about Pfizer vaccines and their use in immune-preventable diseases.
  • Be knowledgeable in vaccines as a prevention strategy for specific diseases.
  • Be up to date of the latest medical/scientific information with regards to the vaccines under his responsibility and relevant competitors.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with KOLs/local medical community (e.g.: universities, academic institutions, scientific societies) in coordination with Medical Managers/Medical Lead to gather insights on treatment patterns and unmet medical needs.
  • Create awareness on upcoming vaccines, and pipeline sharing.
  • Represent medical outside Pfizer with HCPs and stakeholders, always maintaining Pfizer values and culture.
  • Prepare and develop the scientific information and materials to be discussed with the HCPs with the support advice and approval of the Medical Manager/Medical Lead.
  • Support the administrative process for medical projects (e.g.: local data generation external proposals or collaborative research initiatives as well non-interventional studies) in case needed, under Medical Lead guidance.
  • Provide information to local experts/speakers to assist in keeping their presentations current and ensure they have medical and scientific information necessary when responding to questions encountered during their lectures.
  • Conduct scientific training to commercial colleagues, and other internal colleagues when required to fulfill their responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with Medical Manager to ensure plans and initiatives are aligned with the agreed strategy.
  • Act in compliance with all Pfizer policies and local regulations across the cluster.
  • Collaborate in development and implementation of medical strategies with Medical Managers/Medical Lead .Develop and maintain strong relationships with KOLs/local medical community.
  • Support medical education initiatives. Provide scientific information to HCPs about Pfizer pipeline (clinical trials design, efficacy of results and safety profile data) according to internal policies and procedures .
  • Be an internal reference/consultant in vaccines area for other colleagues in the company. Interact with HCPs in scientific international, regional, national or local meetings
  • Requirements:
  • Communications and organizational skills.
  • Ability to build and develop customer relationships.
  • Presentation skills, Teamwork skills, Negotiation skills, Knowledge of relevant and applicable codes of practice, regulations, and guidelines applicable to the function, Understanding of the local healthcare environment of assigned markets, Understanding of drug development, clinical research, medical decision making, Knowledge of drug development processes, Basic knowledge of health economics and regulatory legislation.
  • Health Sciences degree required. Medical degree is an asset.
  • Upper Intermediate Level of English Experience.
  • Experience in a pharmaceutical/biotechnology company: 2 years.
  • Prior experience in clinical research is an asset.
