About the role
VALD is seeking a motivated and collaborative UX/UI Designer to join our Product team. In this role, you’ll support the design process by working on user-centred solutions that align with business objectives. You’ll assist in understanding business needs, conducting user research, advocating for customers, supporting user interviews, and delivering clear and engaging designs.
This role will involve creating user flows, designing wireframes, validating designs through feedback, and contributing to visual design work. You will collaborate closely with senior designers and cross-functional teams to learn, grow, and contribute to impactful design solutions.
At VALD, we foster a supportive team culture where designers stay on top of trends, explore emerging technologies, and refine their skills. If you're looking for an opportunity to grow as a UX/UI designer and create meaningful user experiences, we'd love to hear from you!
What you will do
- Understand business goals, product roadmaps, and customer insights to ensure alignment with design work.
- Confidently present design concepts and solutions to stakeholders with clear and concise communication.
- Collaborate closely with the Lead UX/UI Designer and Software Engineers to deliver high-quality, production-ready interfaces.
- Analyse user behaviour, analytics, and feedback to identify areas of improvement and recommend design solutions.
- Gather input from internal stakeholders to refine and iterate on designs effectively.
- Design engaging digital interfaces with a focus on user-centred principles and usability.
- Create and maintain responsive designs that work seamlessly across browsers and devices, with particular attention to mobile usability.
- Assist in conducting usability testing and analysing results to validate designs and ensure they meet customer needs.
- Produce rapid prototypes and interactive demos to explore and communicate design concepts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product, Marketing, and Commercial, to share insights, advocate for user needs, and support the design process through implementation.
- Stay informed on the latest UX/UI design trends and use data to support iterative design improvements.
- Contribute to ongoing A/B testing initiatives and recommend optimisations to improve user engagement and conversion rates.
Is this you?
- You love collaborating within a product team to create user-centric designs.
- You have 2-3 years of experience designing user experiences for mobile and web applications.
- You are familiar with WCAG 2.1 standards and know how to apply them in your designs.
- You have experience with branding and visual communication (this is a desirable but not a must have).
- You have a strong portfolio that highlights your clean and thoughtful design style.
- You are highly organised and detail oriented.
- You thrive in a fast-paced environment, where processes are still evolving.
- You're self-motivated and take initiative in your work.

If you meet just some of the requirements, but not all, we encourage you to submit your application!
We strongly encourage you to apply if you’re at all interested. Show us how your experience could improve our team and widen our perspective. Our selection process includes assessing the requirements of the role vs the individual, and how well we think they will work in the VALD team.
