USPB Data Lead - Managing Director

The U.S Personal Banking Data Lead is a leadership position in Citi’s Enterprise Data Office (EDO), within the Technology and Business Enablement function. The EDO organization is responsible for an enterprise-wide effort to transform and strengthen the firm’s data, modernize data infrastructure while simplifying the data operating model and executing the strategic priorities for the firm. The EDO defines and enforces data-related policies and standards across Citi and equips the firm with the tools required to take ownership and accountability for data governance and management. The EDO organization includes Business and Function Data and Technology Platform teams, and data cross-enterprise capability teams.

This position will report directly to the Head of Enterprise Data Office and Data Transformation who reports to our Head of Technology.

The USPB Data Lead is responsible for Data across the USPB Business ensuring that is compliant to Regulations, Laws, and Citi Policies, Standards & Procedures to reduce and manage Citi’s data risk.  The USPB Data Lead is responsible for implementing the Data Strategy, architecture target state, and developing the implementation data delivery roadmap for authoritative Data Sources.  This position is responsible for influencing Senior Leaders in the business to develop data as a product and strategic asset.

• Lead the Data USPB organization within the EDO and implement data governance and operating model for Citi’s USPB business.

• Provide strategic and operational direction and support to program and project delivery, ensuring alignment to strategic objectives, leading relationships with key stakeholders across multiple organizations and functions.

• Oversee and maintain regulatory compliance for data across the USPB organization, assessing data governance needs, partnering with the business and other stakeholders and establish structure and resource model to support.

• Drive data quality, regulatory responses, risk management, and privacy to ensure data accuracy, security, and adherence to regulations.

• Champion and lead data transformation efforts (including talent and capabilities) for the USPB business, overseeing data lifecycle management, and resolving data-related issues. 

• Drive Data stakeholder engagement across the USPB organization.

• Develop and build strong working partnerships and strategic relationships with key partners across the business and technology in aligning implementation and operational strategies

• Experience in an enterprise-wide or cross-functional role and ability to influence senior business level ensuring shared ownership of the Company’s overall data strategy and plan execution.

• Strong understanding of the overall regulatory environment and previous experience working with regulators on data plan execution.

• Demonstrate strategic leadership in delivering business value through vision, governance, and executive management.

• Executive communication skills with an ability to describe complex topics in simple terms. Ability to understand and operate successfully in a complex, heavily matrixed corporate environment.

• Sense of urgency, passion for results and personal accountability for achievement. Ability to effectively drive and lead change in an organization with Citigroup’s size, scale, and complexity.

• Strong executive presence; confident in presenting a balanced view to key stakeholders and senior management.

Experience:

• 15+ years of experience, including 10+ years' managerial experience

• Deep knowledge of financial data, along with an understanding of regulatory, compliance, risk management and financial management concerns

• Experience in large-scale, multi-year transformation and capability building efforts.

• Experience in leading cross-functional teams. Extensive prior experience managing complex transformations involving cross business and function collaboration, in a leadership role.

• Deep working knowledge, experience and expertise in Data Governance and/or Technology.

• Deep knowledge of the Consumer / Personal Banking business.

• Previous experience with regulatory agencies.
