Tax Manager

JAS is an international, non-asset-based supply chain services and solutions company. Our services include air and ocean freight forwarding, contract logistics, customs brokerage, distribution, inbound logistics, truckload brokerage and other supply chain management services, including consulting, the coordination of purchase orders and customized management services.

This position will assist tax management in achieving day-to-day departmental goals, working with both internal resources and external service providers. Tax Manager will have opportunities to contribute to strategic departmental projects as he/she improves efficiency in the day-to-day processes and focus on International tax. This position will report to Vice President – International tax.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  
•    The primary duties of Tax Manager will be to oversee the Company’s complex Foreign and International tax calculations.
•    Preparation and review of annual and quarterly Foreign and International tax provision
•    Research and analyze Foreign and International tax issues.
•    Draft tax technical memoranda and workpapers to support tax positions.
•    Assist on tax planning projects and effectively communicate findings and recommendations.
•    Support JAS positions on income tax audit.
•    Responsible for transfer pricing calculations.

QUALIFICATIONS:
•    Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
•    4+ years or above relevant working experience of related income and franchise tax experience
•    Masters degree and/or CPA preferred
•    Strong analytical skills and understanding of accounting records, financial statements, and financial reporting
•    Strong self-motivation and problem solver
•    Good communication, interpersonal and analytical skills
•    Technical Experience Areas: Administration, Taxation, reporting and finance registration know-how.
•    Computer Systems: Office and finance report systems (user level), Checkpoint and OneSource
 

ENVIRONMENT:

100% performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions.  

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; walk; use hands and finger to feel and handle; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, and crouch; lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 25 pounds.
