Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Unix/Linux Systems Engineer with 7–10 years of expertise in managing RHEL, SUSE, and HP-UX environments at L2 and L3 levels. The role involves advanced troubleshooting, system administration, patching, clustering, storage management, performance tuning, and ensuring high availability of critical infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
Linux Administration (RHEL/SUSE):

OS Management: Perform OS installation, patching, upgrades, and security hardening.

Satellite Server Management: Configure, manage, and maintain Red Hat Satellite Server for patching and automation.

Storage & Filesystems: Configure and troubleshoot LVM, NFS, SAN storage, and cluster file systems.

Core Dump & Crash Analysis: Perform system crash diagnostics using kdump, kexec, and core dump analysis for RCA.

Network & High Availability: Configure and troubleshoot network bonding/teaming for redundancy. Implement and support clustering solutions (RedHat Cluster, SUSE HAE).

Performance Optimization: Perform OS performance tuning using tools like perf and strace. Troubleshoot kernel, CPU, memory, and I/O-related performance issues.

Automation & Monitoring: Develop Ansible/Shell scripts for automation and system health monitoring using OSWatcher, rsyslog, and other logging tools.
HP-UX Administration:

LVM & Storage: Manage LVM, cluster file system creation, and volume resizing.

Cluster Management: Handle failover and failback operations in cluster environments.
-
Patching & User Management: Perform OS patching, firmware updates, and basic L2 troubleshooting.
General Unix Support:

Provide L2/L3 support for incidents, problem management, and RCA.

Work on backup & recovery solutions.

Collaborate with security teams for compliance and vulnerability remediation.
Required Skills:
-
Strong expertise in RHEL 7/8/9 & SUSE Linux administration.

Hands-on experience with Red Hat Satellite Server for patching & lifecycle management.

In-depth knowledge of HP-UX LVM, clustering, and OS patching.

Proficiency in troubleshooting, performance tuning, and log analysis.

Experience with network bonding, storage management (SAN/NAS), and backup solutions.

Strong scripting knowledge (Ansible, Shell scripting).

Good understanding of security hardening, compliance, and automation.
Preferred Qualifications:

RHCSA/RHCE, SLES certification, or HP-UX certifications are a plus.

Experience in cloud-based Linux environments is an advantage.
