Essential Responsibilities
Projects Execution throughout the whole product development process; utilizing experience to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others. The projects shall meet GE Aerospace policies, standards, procedures, specifications, Government and Commercial Standards, and special security requirements.
Tasks include:
Leading the solution of complex technical problems & projects:

Define technical schedule, cost, and program requirements

Ensure quality, schedule, and cost requirements are met

Assess customer requirements
-
Ensure timely communication to stakeholders
-
Track and communicate project status to leadership
-
Design mechanical components for Air starters to comply with customer requirements
-
Integrate mechanical components or systems into the final application
-
Understand and Interpret FEA Results
-
Ensure that proper technical documentation is generated for the projects
-
Prepare and present technical reviews (internal and to end customer)
-
Support test plans, procedures and reports (for qualification and/or development)
-
Solve customer issues and service requests (lead and implement)
-
Coach or mentor others thru the product development process

Support MRB substantiation
These activities can be part of a New Product Introduction or a Legacy component. For either, the Project Engineer is responsible of knowing and executing as per the applicable processes.
The Project Engineer shall be able to concurrently work on multiple projects, monitoring progress and quality, and ensuring schedule requirements are met.
Qualifications / Requirements

BS degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics or related field

Effective and assertive written and oral communication skills in English and Spanish
-
Must be able to maintain technical conversations in English
-
GD&T intermediate knowledge
-
Knowledgeable in design and analysis tools such as Unigraphics NX
-
Understanding of rotating machinery, mechanical components design, and starting systems
-
Proficiency in design change substantiation
-
Proven contributions in a similar role or function
-
Intermediate technical knowledge of common manufacturing methods for mechanical products such as machining, casting, bending, welding, brazing, rolling, etc.

Presentation Skills: Ability to communicate across functions

Strong understanding of Project Management principles

Strong problem-solving skills with guidance
-
Able to manage own projects and tasks (Project Management mid to high level of knowledge)

Experienced in Productivity and Cost Reduction projects

Experienced in Continuous Improvement methodologies

Knowledgeable in Rolling Bearings selection, Lubrication, Gearboxes, and Rotating machinery systems.
