The Underwriting Assistant will support the Mid-Market Casualty team. Primary duties will include:
- Rating General Liability, Workers Compensation, Commercial Auto and XS Liability lines of coverage.
- Corresponding with our broker contacts to collect necessary submission information needed by underwriting, as well as processing endorsements on existing renewals.
- Collaborate with the underwriters to create, review, and release quotes & binders.
- Responsible for creating underwriting files and following-up on any outstanding subjectivities for bound accounts.
Job Requirements
- Minimum 3-5 years of commercial insurance experience at a Company/Agency/Brokerage
- Experience with Commercial Casualty rating.
- Experience with rating General Liability , Workers’ Compensation, Commercial Automobile and XS Liability
- CIC, CPCU, AAI, INS or other Industry Designation preferred
- Strong technical experience with rating (manual and systems) General Liability, Workers’ Compensation, and Commercial Automobile
- Knowledgeable with ISO and NCCI policy forms, endorsements and rating rules
- Professional demeanor in language and writing skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize workflows efficiently
- Ability to work independently, but also work to support a team environment
- Experience with Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PDF
- Ability to work in a fast paced work environment
