As a Designer, you will play a key role in shaping and evolving Darkroom’s website and digital user experience working on case study pages, service modules, asset selection, and overall site identity. Alongside this, you’ll collaborate with the marketing team to design orgânic social assets, paid ads, newsletter emails, and landing pages. Reporting directly to our Creative Lead, your primary focus will be UI/UX while also contributing to branding and marketing design efforts.

A strong candidate has a best-in-class visual eye, clear attention to detail, and direct experience with weaving a brand identity into a responsive web experience.

This is a fully remote role operating in the EST Time zone. This role is open to candidates in the following locations: Mexico, Portugal, Brazil, and Spain.

Duties & Responsibilities

UI/UX Design:

  • Independently lead UI/UX engagements to work on Darkroom’s website that showcase our brand and services to the world.

  • Comfortable using no-code tools, namely Framer to prototype, build, and iterate on web experiences efficiently, ensuring high-quality execution without relying solely on developers.

  • Collaborate with the CEO and the Head of Marketing to deliver marketing initiatives.

  • Competently articulate UX thinking with clarity and confidence.

  • Approach UI/UX design with a focus on branded UI, conversion-focused UX, and clarity.

  • Successfully independently project manage design engagements from end to end with adherence to a timeline (i.e. Lead projects from discovery and strategy through to ideation, iteration, and hand-off).

  • Approach your designs with a sense of structure, creating component systems and adhering to spacing, padding, type style, and color style guidelines.

  • Ability to switch gears between projects quickly and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Marketing Design:

  • This role reports to the Creative Lead and works alongside a team of other creatives deploying initiatives for Darkroom marketing.

  • Execute and maintain a design system and style guides to be used across all creative collateral, ensuring consistency of the Darkroom brand identity and messaging.

  • Collaborate closely with other creatives and marketing team members for daily approvals and feedback to ensure your work adheres to a high standard of craft and accurately reflects the identity of the Darkroom brand.

  • Develop a deep understanding of what factors drive converting creative on each of a Darkroom’s marketing channels and execute designs within established best practices.

Requirements

  • 1-3+ years experience as a UI/UX designer, brand designer, marketing designer, product designer, web designer, or similar role, in a high-caliber creative environment.

  • A digital portfolio that demonstrates an ability to produce web design and branding work, with best-in-class design foundations like color theory, hierarchy, composition, and typography.

  • You understand how UI/UX decisions affect consumer psychology and behavior, and you apply these principles to your design.

  • You are self-motivated and proactive with a strong sense of ownership and accountability for detail-oriented deliverables

  • You understand how to turn ideas and discussions into actionable next steps.

  • You have a proven track record of collaborating with developers or engineers, and understand how to document your designs for development hand-off.

  • Strong experience in Figma, and functionality like Auto Layout, Components, and Variants, is a must.

  • Experience with no-code tools, Framer knowledge is a plus.

  • Experience in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) is a must.
