Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Trim Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end trim development process, partnering with suppliers, and ensuring innovative, high-quality, and cost-efficient trims are delivered to support our product roadmaps. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including designers, garment technical teams, and vendors, to maintain product integrity and ensure on-time deliveries that meet the highest quality standards.


Key Responsibilities:

End-to-End Trim Development: Support and manage the trim development process from concept to commercialization, driving innovation, productivity, efficiency, and profitability.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure development objectives and timelines are aligned with the overall product calendar.

Trim Evaluation & Improvement: Assess current trim categories and identify areas for improvement and consolidation to support the brand’s product roadmaps in terms of aesthetic, allocation, and cost-effectiveness.

Technical Support: Provide technical expertise to designers and garment technical teams on trim applications, innovation, and the capabilities of suppliers to meet product requirements.

Testing and Risk Assessments: Own trim testing, reporting, and risk assessments, ensuring quality, performance attributes, and usage expectations align with cross-functional teams and suppliers.

Supplier Coordination: Manage raw material staging and booking dates with suppliers to ensure timely bulk deliveries, maintaining alignment with seasonal needs.

KPI Development & Reporting: Develop and report on department key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve the effectiveness of trim development and sourcing.

Cost Analysis & Negotiation: Analyze cost components and market trends in global raw materials to support negotiation strategies with suppliers, ensuring competitive pricing.

Trim Usage Reconciliation: Partner with trim suppliers to track and reconcile trim usage on a seasonal basis.

Supplier Onboarding: Lead trim supplier onboarding processes to ensure new suppliers are integrated effectively into the development pipeline.

Trim Library Management: Establish, manage, and maintain a comprehensive trim library to ensure proper storage, tracking, and easy access to trim samples and specifications.

PLM System Management: Ensure timely creation, update, and upkeep of the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system to maintain accurate product and trim data.


Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Textile, Fashion, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

5-7 years of experience in trim development, sourcing, or product development within the apparel or fashion industry.

Strong technical knowledge of trims, including materials, applications, and performance testing.

Excellent project management skills, with a proven ability to meet deadlines and coordinate multiple projects.

Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external suppliers to achieve business goals.

Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess and interpret cost data and market trends.

Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.

Experience with PLM systems and a solid understanding of the commercialization process.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage relationships at all levels.

Detail-oriented, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.


Preferred Skills:

Experience with trim testing and risk assessments.

Knowledge of global raw material markets and cost negotiation strategies.

Experience managing a trim library and maintaining comprehensive records.

Prior experience working in a fast-paced, seasonal environment.
