Primary Duties

· Complies with all plant administrative rules.

· Complies with all applicable operating procedures.

· Obeys the plant safety rules.

· Operates automatic electrically / Hydraulic powered End Plate machine.

· Operates vice, press, and conveyors.

· Inspects ties to determine if each end requires gang nailsin accordance with customer specifications.

· Determines if a tie is salvageable or not.

· Maintains numerical count of gang nailed ties and reports data to supervisor.

· Performs preventive maintenance.

· Informs supervisor or maintenance personnel as to the need of major repairs and adjustments.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

· Performs all required SH&E responsibilities.

SH&E Responsibilities

· Complies with all SH&E regulations and corporate and plant SH&E policies and procedures.

· Promptly and properly reports all incidents, injuries, damages, spills and/or releases.

· Promptly reports and, if possible, corrects all unsafe acts and/or conditions.

· Wears personal protective equipment (PPE) required by the applicable PPE hazard assessments (including restricted use pesticide PPE requirements).

· Completes all SH&E inspections assigned by management.

· Performs required housekeeping activities.

· Cleans up drippage from drip tracks and places hazardous waste into proper containers.

· Cleans up drippage in Treated Wood Storage Yard.

· Works safely with and around hazardous materials/hazardous waste.

Requirements & Qualification

· Pass preemployment medical screening.

· Qualified as a powered industrial equipment operator.

· Trained as authorized personnel and/or affected personnel for lockout/tagout.

· Demonstrates acceptable retention level for the required training elements.

· Trained to handle hazardous waste.

· Willingness to work outdoors.

· High School Diploma or GED equivalent
