Job Description
JPMorgan Chase is seeking a Vice President to join our Treasury Analytics team within the Consumer and Community Bank.
As a Treasury Analytics, Vice President within the Consumer and Community Banking (CCB) Treasury Analytics team, you will be tasked with conducting analytics on the liquidity characteristics of CCB. Your role will also involve promoting enhancements to valuation frameworks/models across all areas of CCB's balance sheet, with a primary focus on the firm's $1T+ in retail deposit balances. You will be expected to operate independently to solve ambiguous problems, building relationships across the firm to create lasting impacts for teams outside your direct scope of influence. Your responsibilities will also include refining balance sheet strategy and assessing market and macroeconomic impacts, which are key elements of our team's duties. This role is fast-paced and provides direct exposure to senior business leaders responsible for the direction of CCB's balance sheet.
Job responsibilities:
- Designing and executing financial analyses to guide business decisions; preparing data; ensuring accuracy and integrity of data and results
- Delivering high quality, well-structured written presentations to senior audiences; clearly communicating the team's work to both senior and junior colleagues with finance and non-finance backgrounds
- Building relationships proactively and influencing colleagues at all levels; serving as an internal consultant to help solve some of the biggest challenges across CCB; leading disparate cross-functional teams to achieve common goals
- Understanding the value-add steps in a process; identify, propose, and implement steps to improve existing and new processes using subject matter knowledge and automation tools
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:
- 6+ years of full-time work experience in finance, investment banking, consulting, analytics, or strategy
- Proven track record of academic and professional success with strong foundation of valuation concepts, including capital budgeting, IRR, ROE, and DCF
- Proven ability to deal with ambiguous problems, leveraging core financial principles to create viable and innovative solutions
- Ability to approach problems methodically, structuring analyses and spreadsheets in an easy to follow manner for individuals unfamiliar with the analysis
- Demonstrated ability to pick up complex concepts quickly, analyze problems, apply quantitative analytical approaches, communicate effectively and confidently (both oral and written), and work well in cross-functional teams
- Quantitatively focused undergraduate and/or graduate degree or other demonstrated quantitative and analytical ability
- Relevant knowledge in at least one of the team's other key content areas (e.g., liquidity, transfer pricing, interest rate risk, capital) in addition to valuation
- Working knowledge of retail banking and products
- Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills, including Hyperion Essbase
- The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and have passion and intellectual curiosity to find and capture business value
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills:
- MBA and/or progress towards CFA charter or other financial certification
- Solid understanding of fixed income valuation concepts including: yield curve structure, duration, and convexity
