Trainee (Technology)

What's the role?
The HERE NDS (navigation database standard) Technologies team will work closely with our experienced IT professionals to build our map compilation product that creates the most comprehensive high definition live map in the market, intended to support precise navigation for self-driving cars.
Your key responsibilities:

• Involved in software development lifecycle: Software system development, testing, release and support. Developing software that is well-crafted & steadily adds business value, as part of a community of professionals
• Collaboration: Engage with internal teams for requirement discussion and analysis to help improve the application. Be part of an agile team, share knowledge, learn about map-making concepts
• Documentation: Assist in creating and delivering system, engineering best-practices, map making related documentation materials for the team
• Follow Engineering best practices: Agile, coding, verification, quality testing
• Quality Assurance: Help test applications and write test algorithms to ensure they work correctly.

Qualifications:
This role is on a contract basis for a year under the company's payroll and does not guarantee a full-time opportunity after the contract ends

• Educational Background: A Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field from a reputed university.
• Fast learner: An eye for detail, strong problem-solving and debugging skills
• Technical Aptitude: Strong interest in IT applications and systems.
• Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze problems and find solutions.
• Adaptability: Willingness to learn new technologies.
• Team Player: Ability to work well in a team. Self-motivated, well-organized, details-oriented.
• Attention to Detail: Careful attention to detail.

Skills:

• Application Knowledge: Understanding of SDLC, unit testing, performance testing, writing testable code
• Programming Languages: Basic knowledge of programming concepts and/or any programming language such as Scala, Java, Python or SQL.
• Database Management: Understanding of database systems and SQL queries.
• Microservices: Basic knowledge of microservices concepts.
