The Role
In this position, you will be part of a 9-week Global Intern program, where you will work with other developers, architects, test engineers and product management in the development of real-time fixed income trading systems. You’ll be a part of our Pragma team, which powers a quantitative trading platform and specializes in algorithmic and analytical services.
How You'll Help Take Us There
- Join a development team where you will be under supervision of technologists and participate in team scrum meetings.
- Understand business requirements and how to translate them into technical designs.
- Work on a software project that solves a real need for MarketAxess
- Participate in software design, development, testing, bug-fixes, and code reviews.
- Implement features and/or tools related to electronic trading in capital markets.
- See your creation come into existence and use by the end of the summer program.
What We're Looking for
- Currently enrolled in a full-time bachelor’s or master’s degree program in mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, or similar from an accredited college or university. This internship is intended for students with 1-2 semesters to complete until their degree is conferred.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States permanently without employment visa sponsorship required now or in the future.
- Experience programming in Java.
- Understanding of data structures and algorithms, OO programming, Design Patterns.
- Familiarity with Linux command line and scripting.
- Self-organized, curious, motivated to seek out solutions to problems independently.
- Ability to function well in a fast-paced environment, and deal with changing priorities.
For job positions in NYC, NY, and other locations where required, the estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is $35.00 USD to $45.00 USD per hour. Actual salary may vary depending on job-related factors, which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
