Trade Compliance Analyst

We are looking for our next Trade Compliance Analyst for our growing Global Trade Compliance (GTC) team as Brooks continues to accelerate its growth journey.
This new Trade Compliance Analyst role will join the outstanding GTC team to partner cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring Brooks conducts its international trade legally and efficiently. Brooks GTC places heavy focus on problem resolution and strategic improvement projects.
Fully-remote for a strong candidate, otherwise WFH / on-site hybrid based in Chelmsford, MA.
This role is a full-time contract position with strong possibility for internal promotion based on a track record of team contribution.
What you’ll do:
- Analyze Harmonized Tariff Schedule classifications for parts, articles, robots, and the like in the semiconductor machinery equipment (SME) industry applicable to Brooks parts and machinery database. Primary work will be with the HTS-US, then mapping to global HS schedules.
- Research steel and aluminum content per new US tariff requirements.
- Research CROSS and global tariff rulings for applicability to Brooks products, or recommend and assist with submitting ruling requests.
- Monitor future possible US tariffs and retaliatory tariffs or measures.
- Implement report-based compliance monitoring programs using Agile, Oracle EBS and Cloud OTM/GTM, government data, screening systems, and Excel techniques to prioritize work and perform compliance monitoring.
- Update GTM tables and use Oracle GTM to automate HS compliance decisions.
- Participate in US and global import/export compliance risk assessments.
- Participate in the development of trade policies and procedures.
What you’ll bring:
Our preferences for a successful candidate for this new role, based on our envisioned long-term Trade Compliance professional development in the Brooks GTC function, includes the following:
- At least two years of experience in a large multinational Trade Compliance environment, or consultancy/law firm, focusing on core Trade Compliance subject matter HS classification. Experience in import regulations, values, transaction monitoring, training, and the like a plus.
- At least two years of experience managing Oracle GTM (preferred), SAP GTS, or similar trade automation programs
- Moderate to high level of Excel skills, preferably including using vLookup, Pivot tables, and other techniques to perform comparative analysis.
- A passion and knack for process improvement and creative problem-solving.
- Ability to communicate trade compliance requirements to non-trade compliance persons
- Strong verbal and written communication English
- A four-year degree is preferred for the position and for promotion potential within Brooks, though not a strict hiring requirement for this position.
