Position Summary:  

  • Provide technical and analytical support for customs and trade compliance matters at the North America site/division(s) level, ensuring compliance with all relevant customs regulations and trade laws and regulations, including 19CFR, 15CFR, OFAC, FDA, USDA, and other US regulatory agency requirements. 

  • Operates with general direction and supervision from the Associate Director, Customs & Trade Compliance. Trade Compliance department is accountable for compliant import and export of goods and services, including proper classification, origin determination, and valuation.  

  • This position can be based remotely but ideally would be based near Princeton, NJ.

 

Core Job Responsibilities:  

  • Under direction of AD, Customs & Trade Compliance, Analyst will monitor import/export shipments to ensure proper classification, valuation, and origin data elements are conveyed to Customs Brokers to secure customs and PGA release.  

  • Respond to Broker/Agent requests for information to ensure compliance and secure timely goods release.   

  • As directed, help process miscellaneous item Export Shipping Requests to ensure accuracy and completeness of all required compliance data and documentation.  

  • As directed, solicit Vendor Declarations of material Country of Origin. Record and maintain corresponding material master data.  

  • As directed, provide analytical support to Customs Valuation adjustments and annual Reconciliation filing requirements.  

  • Recordkeeping: collect and organize import entry packets and export declaration documents in accordance with regulatory requirements.  

  • Provide analytical support related to CBP Requests for Information, Post-Entry Amendments, and Prior Disclosures.  

  • Monitor Customs Monthly Statements and process requests for direct payment to Customs.  

  • Support Restricted/Sanctioned Party Screening processing operations.  

  • Support applications for US export licenses and manage the application of granted licenses 

  • As needed, provide analytical and administrative support to file VAT refund applications in various jurisdictions 

  • As directed, execute effective and timely transactional review/audit of all import/export records. Elevate issues requiring correction and coordinate corrective actions under the supervision of Associate Director, Trade Compliance 

  • Assist in periodic Broker/Agent compliance performance assessments.  

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of process work instructions and SOPs, process flows, and workflow products (automated forms) for import and export requirements. 

  • Assist in the design and implementation of automation solutions to increase efficiency and improve monitoring of compliance issues. 

  • Assist in the development of corporate training material and help coordinate training for key stakeholder personnel 

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 

Required: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in international business, international affairs, economics, supply chain, operations, business, or related field of study. 

  • Demonstrated interest in above subject matter and an eagerness to expand knowledge in import/export compliance.  

  • Demonstrated experience in a professional setting. Sound analytical abilities and attention to detail required.  

  • Ability to demonstrate effective communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills in a cross-functional organization.   

  • Ability to balance multiple priorities simultaneously and manage time appropriately. 

  • An ability to deal with ambiguity with a curious mindset, be adaptable, and be a part of a multi-team approach  

 

Preferred: 

  • Prior experience in import/export compliance, logistics operations, international business, or other related field.  

  • Prior experience in Pharmaceutical, Medical Device, or Food processing industries.

Minimum $34.00 - Maximum $44.00, plus incentive opportunity: The range shown represents a typical pay range or starting salary for candidates hired to perform the work. Other elements may be used to determine actual salary such as the candidate’s job experience, specific skills, and comparison to internal incumbents currently in role.
