The Chief Engineer Office (CEnO) is the heart of our innovation, setting global standards and leading the development of processes, system engineering, and software architecture. Who We're Looking For

We're seeking a visionary Technical Tooling Expert who will architect the next generation of software development tools for mobility systems where safety and security are paramount. You will be a key player in shaping the tooling strategy for our development platforms and vehicle components, working closely with the Chief Architect.

Reporting to the Chief Architect, this hybrid role allows you to enjoy the best of both worlds—collaborating with talented colleagues in the office at least three days a week while benefiting from flexible working arrangements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Architect & Implement: Design and support the implementation of a robust software development tooling strategy, including compilers, runtimes, libraries, linkers, and debuggers.
• Collaborate & Align: Work with development teams, suppliers, and OEMs to ensure our tooling strategy meets both internal and external goals.
• Industry Influence: Participate in open source communities and standards bodies to drive the future of industry-leading tooling.
• Lead & Mentor: Hire, mentor, and develop a team of technical experts, nurturing a culture of safety, security, and innovation.
• Enable Growth: Promote a world-class engineering environment where diverse opinions are valued, and everyone is encouraged to reach their full potential.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Expertise in Modern Software Tooling: Extensive experience, particularly in C and C++, with a focus on safety and security.
• Empathetic Leadership: A leader who understands and fosters individual growth and potential.
• Technical Excellence: Proven track record of adhering to high standards in software development and functional safety.
• Cultural Openness: Enthusiasm for working in a diverse, multicultural team.
• Innovative Mindset: Passion for continuous improvement and ownership of quality outcomes.

NICE TO HAVES:

• Hands-on experience in developing software tools in a commercial production environment.
• Contributions to open-source projects and involvement in standards bodies.
• Japanese language skills, knowledge of quality management systems, and experience in the automotive industry.
• Familiarity with functional safety standards like ISO 26262 and SOTIF.
