Job Responsibilities:
The System Test Engineer for Thermal Camera is responsible for the evaluation for the thermal image sensing cameras for automotive vehicle applications focusing on development/verification/validation of thermal camera systems on bench and in vehicle environment. Must be a hands-on engineer willing to work in test engineering, build prototypes, and support SW engineers with various development tasks.
Responsibilities
- Develop test plans and procedures to build, validate function, and measure performance of infrared camera products ensuring requirements are met.
- Plan and setup test equipment for various tasks.
- Provide support for software and hardware engineers by providing feedback, test results, and validating test application software with associated test station hardware.
- Manage test station configurations for various test station use cases and product changes.
- Setup, maintain, troubleshoot and identify improvements to various test stations including in-vehicle setups for testing and data collection.
- Test Prototypes during product build process and during environmental testing.
- Perform failure analysis on product and log result.
- Perform in-vehicle testing and data collection in collaboration with System/ SW engineers.
- Collect, manage, and report test data to engineering team.
- Allocate lab workspace and equipment to various projects and engineers as need.
- Manage inventory of custom test equipment, perform updates as needed.
- Occasional assignments may include for SW and System development areas
Education
- Bachelors of Science in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
Experience
- 2+ years of product test development experience.
- Familiarity with infrared technology and performance parameters such as MTF (Modulation Transfer Function), NEDT (Noise Equivalent Delta Temperature), Responsivity is desirable
- Familiarity with Python , SQL, C, C++, Java is desirable
- Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills and in meeting schedules and deadlines

- Takes an active part in the division's safety program by performing regular workplace inspections, effectively investigates accidents/incidents promptly and assists in meeting or exceeding the division's safety goals.
