Position Summary

This position is responsible for the Development and execution of Testplans associated with F5 HW Products.  Debug HW through the use of tests and Test Equipment to apply, and maintain quality standards for F5 products.  Works closely with MFG to ensure the Product transition from NPI to MFG is successful.  Collaborates with peers and assigned Project teams. Requires little direct management to complete the majority of development tasks.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Follows and contributes to test standards and procedures on a wide range of major product components.
  • Performs PCA and system testing of new products, as well as new releases of existing products.
  • Collaborates with team members and technical leads.
  • Develops Process and procedural documentation.
  • May research, investigate and define new areas of test technologies or methodologies to enhance the testing of products.
  • Performs HW Troubleshooting at the PCA and System Level.
  • Gathers and analizes test data for build reports as well as Bug writing, Troubleshooting and debug.
  • Generates Test requirements for others to Develop to.
  • Conducts both internal and external presentations.
  • May participate in hiring and onboarding processes.
  • May provide technical guidance to lower level Engineers.
  • Assists Senior and Principle Test Engineers where needed.
  • Responsible for upholding F5’s Business Code of Ethics and for promptly reporting violations of the Code or other company policies.
  • Performs other related activities as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Solid knowledge and experience with test methodologies used in HW Test.
  • CAD Design experience a Plus.
  • UNIX/Linux experience preferred.
  • 3+ years PCA/System MFG experience.
  • Solid analytic / trouble-shooting skills.
  • Successfully manages ambiguity with limited direction.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in both written and verbal communications.
  • Strong networking experience and understanding of Server Architectures.
  • Able to collaborate and thrive in a fast-paced high-performance environment.
  • Demonstrates emerging leadership qualities; leads small group interaction. .

Qualifications:

  • Typically 4-7 years’ experience in PCA or System Level MFG Test.
  • BS/BA in Electrical Engineering or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • The majority of Duties are performed in a normal office environment while sitting at a desk or computer table.  At times Duties will be performed in a MFG area or Lab.
  • Duties require the ability to utilize a computer, communicate over the telephone, and read printed material.
  • Duties may require being on call periodically or working outside normal working hours (evenings and weekends).  Duties may require the ability to travel via automobile or airplane, approximately 5% of the time spent traveling.
  • Duties will require international Travel.
  • Job may be performed on-site at a Non F5 MFG Center.
  • Job requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

The annual base pay for this position is: $102,630.00 - $153,946.00

F5 maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, geographic locations, and market conditions, as well as to reflect F5’s differing products, industries, and lines of business. The pay range referenced is as of the time of the job posting and is subject to change.
