Job Responsibilities:
Role Summary
As a Test Engineer, you will be responsible for leading on-going continuous improvement as well as supporting daily production.
Key Responsibilities
- The Test Engineer will support test executive based functional test equipment and drive continuous improvement.
- Support daily production and Own test equipment related KPIs such as OEE, DPMU, Cycle Time.
- Develop and maintain all production support documentation such as Reaction Matrix, Technical Work Instruction, PM.
- Collaborate with mechanics and technicians on troubleshooting the tester equipment, provide training as needed.
- Support failure analysis, disposition of production defects and customer returns in a timely fashion.
- Perform statistical data analysis on test data to quantity specific area of improvement and drive root cause analysis.
- Support protype runs, engineering trials and new product launches by ensuring the test equipment are set up accordingly.
- Plan, execute and validate any equipment modification including procedure, hardware and software changes.
- Perform critical Test System Calibration including maintaining the schedule and reference DUT units.
- Interface with equipment vendors to gain internal competencies in troubleshooting or making changes to the equipment.
- Collaborate with other test engineers and product designers to develop strategies for future product test equipment, update test equipment specifications and refine the test limits, and improve code base version control.
Key Qualifications/Requirements
Education
- Electrical or Mechatronic Engineering Degree.
Experience
- 3-5 years of industry experience required. Hands-on experience with RF systems and / or ATEs in high-volume manufacturing environment targeted for the automotive electronics market is an asset.
- Strong analytical, communication skills (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills required.
- Demonstratable knowledge of industry components and instrumentation controls, e.g. relays, actuators, DAQ, DMM, CAN, etc. Experience with Spectrum Analyzer is an asset.
- Must be able to interpret electrical drawings, schematics, engineering specifications and technical datasheet.
- Familiarity with NI TestStand or other Test Executives required. Proficient in software programming language c/c++/ c#. Experience with LabWindows CVI preferred.
- Strong data analysis skills required. Advanced knowledge of Excel, Python, PowerBI, MSA or Statistics is an asset.
- Hands-on experience with machine troubleshooting, repair and maintenance is an asset.
