Thales in the Czech Republic employs over 400 people from 45 different nationalities. A total of 15 teams work on projects for government agencies, banking, mobile services and the Internet Of Things (IoT) technology. These include many kinds of payment cards, SIM cards, travel passes, secure eBanking devices, authentication tokens, machine identification modules (MIM), and secure ID documents including ePassports, eID and eHealth cards, as well as eDriving licenses. As a Test Automation Engineer, you will work with issuance and reading of secure documents (passports, ID cards, Driver licenses, Tachograph cards) and cryptography and verification of ID documents at border control. You will learn which principles are making the modern e-government a reality.
As a member of our team, you will create and maintain test automation of key products and components, used by other Thales teams to deliver tailor-made solutions to governments and citizens all around the globe.
A week in the life of a Test Automation Engineer:
- Responsible for Software Integration, Verification, Validation and Qualification for Issuance software.
- Create and maintain test automation for existing as well as new features.
- Define Test strategy, (Functional, security, Load, performance …) and execute test cases and identification of suitable reuse of use cases.
- Track bugs, report progress and validate bugs.
- You will provide support to other teams who are using your test automation code.
- You will contribute to user documentation of your software.
- Follow the Thales processes and best practices defined within team and business line.
- Perform security assessment with vulnerabilities scans, penetration tests and follow security plan.
- You will technically support and develop other team members.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- To succeed at this job, you must have very good knowledge of Automation testing with Playwright tool and performance testing tools, Practical experience with SQL and scripting and continuous integration.
- It would be an advantage if you have experience with software security testing tools, smart cards, frontend test automation, Exposure to REST API testing and API testing tools.
- You must be fluent in English.
- We would like someone to join our team who is interested in technology, enthusiastic about software test automation and continuously learns new things. Someone who is team-player and has good communication skills. Practical experience with Scrum is an advantage.
- You do not need to have a university degree in computer science, but it’s surely an advantage
- We are looking for someone with at least 2 years of experience with test automation in Playwright.
