Terminal Contract Manager, Ocean Procurement
We are seeking a Terminal Contract Manager for EUR Ocean Procurement, responsible for managing and optimizing terminal agreements across Europe. The ideal candidate will have strong procurement experience, preferably with an operational background, and a proactive mindset to drive value beyond the contract. Success in this role requires exceptional stakeholder management skills, the ability to influence senior decision-makers, and a strategic approach to cost efficiency and schedule reliability improvement.

As part of your responsibilities, you will enable the business to take informed and contract conscious decisions, in compliance with contracted terms. You will be driving performance management, innovation of contracting processes, compliance & data management on a regional level. You will be also a part of global Contract Management community representing the EUR region, develop global standards, and help to strengthen our global function. The high performance of our contracts has a direct impact on the quality of service with our customers and suppliers and thereby a key component of final customer experience. This is also an opportunity to work with our Global ESG, compliance, legal, process and digital / platforms teams to deliver on enterprise priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Own key terminal supplier contracts for communications, performance, and compliance
- Ensure internal stakeholders understand contractual terms and conditions
- Maintain rate management systems & contract visibility dashboards
- Translate contracts into actionable formats for execution of SLAs, payment terms, and master data
- Maximize contract value by identifying risks and opportunities with Operations, Market & Procurement teams
- Drive compliance and implement action plans for non-compliant contracts
- Incorporate improvement points from contract execution into renegotiation cycles
- Align roles and responsibilities for performance management across stakeholders
- Identify opportunities to innovate and digitize contract performance processes
- Ensure SLAs, governance, and compliance are managed in line with contracted terms
- Oversee timely contract renewals and signature processes
- Collaborate with Procure to Pay teams to drive payment performance
- Develop and maintain terminal performance dashboards
- Ensure compliance with Legal and ESG guidelines, and support continuous improvement
- Coordinate terminal cost plans with the Terminal Sourcing team and Finance Business Partner
- Support sourcing and contract management activities as needed
- Assist the Head of Ocean Contract Management and global team with Contract Management plans
Who we are looking for:
- Experience in procurement, business compliance, or performance roles
- Strong change management skills and outcome-focused mindset
- Ability to manage senior stakeholders and lead projects
- Background in digital transformation and data management
- Collaborative team player with influence beyond direct authority
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Experience in digital procurement transformation is a plus
