Telecommunications Specialist

Amentum is now hiring for several Telecommunications Specialist (All Levels) – CSIA positions in support of the Cyber Security & Information Assurance (CSIA) Support Services office at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD and Ft Belvoir, VA. This project will provide the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM), Command, Control, Computers, Communications, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Research (C5ISR) Center services to include programmatic/business management services, engineering support services, field engineering, laboratory, logistics, and acquisition / administrative support services to augment CSIA core Government personnel and turn-key solutions to support the missions of CSIA and its associated Managers and customers. This support will be conducted in close coordination with Government project leads within CSIA.

The candidate will work closely with the client to perform the following:

• Prepares and operates telecommunication systems.
• Tests system to ensure it functions as needed.
• Troubleshoots technical communications problems.
• Interacts with customers to identify telecommunication system requirements.
• Prepares schedule and coordinates delivery and installation of telecommunication systems.
• Oversees work of technicians involved in installation activities to ensure conformance with specifications (as applicable)
• Conducts field audits. Prepares cost estimates and assists in preparing annual budgets.
• Handles maintenance of telecommunications and network infrastructure.
• Possess experience in communications software, hardware or networks.
• Specific experience required includes: protocol analysis, knowledge of OSI protocol (TCP/IP, X.25.X 400, and X.500).
• Experience with ATM, frame, relay bridges, routers, gateways, FDDI, and UNIX operating systems is required. CNE or ECNE experience is desired, as well as supervising the operation and maintenance of communication network systems, mainframe, mini or client/server based.
• Evaluates communication hardware and software, troubleshoots LAN/MAN/WAN and network related problems.
• Provides technical expertise for performance and configuration of networks.
• Schedules conversions and cutovers.
• Oversees network control center.
• Supervises maintenance of systems.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer science, electronics engineering, or other engineering or technical discipline.
• 1-10+ years of experience.
• 8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education.
• Must have an Active TOP SECRET US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to maintain a TOP SECRET Clearance. 

Compensation:

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $50,000 - $200,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.).
