As a Technology Support III within the Commercial and Investment Banking (CIB) Technology, Production Management Markets Equities team, your primary role will be to ensure the operational stability, availability, and performance of our production application flows. You will be instrumental in promoting a culture of continuous improvement as you troubleshoot, maintain, identify, escalate, and resolve production service interruptions for all internally and externally developed systems, thereby ensuring a seamless user experience. Your specific duties will involve providing production support for cash equities trading application support in Japan, and assisting multiple trading desks including Electronic Client Services (ECS), Single Stock, Program Trading, Prime, Equity Derivatives and Futures & Options. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain experience in a highly dynamic trading environment, as you will work closely with the business desks to support DMA, algorithmic trading and high frequency trading business.
Job responsibilities

  • Provides end-to-end application or infrastructure service delivery to enable successful business operations of the firm
  • Supports the day-to-day maintenance of the firm's systems to ensure operational stability and availability
  • Assist in the monitoring of production environments for anomalies and address issues utilizing standard observability tools
  • Identify issues for escalation and communication, and provide solutions to the business and technology stakeholders
  • Analyze complex situations and trends to anticipate and solve incident, problem, and change management in support of full stack technology systems, applications, or infrastructure
  • Manage and execute projects for production management and on platform improvement initiatives in Monitoring, Stability, Resiliency and Capacity
  • Develop and utilize appropriate tools to improve operational efficiency and actively participate in a DevOps environment
  • Engage actively with traders and support trading floor activities by promptly resolving production queries, requests, issues under a highly pressured environment
  • Identify, communicate, diagnose, and resolve functional and technical incidents for business users
  • Plan, review and execute regular application change releases into production environment and work closely with business stake holders, application developers and QA teams to minimize change related incident
  • Conduct regular stability review with application owners and act as regional subject matter expert for assigned products and applications in cash equities trading


Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science of equivalent
  • Formal training or certification of 3+ years of experience or equivalent expertise troubleshooting, resolving, and maintaining information technology services
  • Demonstrated knowledge of applications or infrastructure in a large-scale technology environment both on premises and public cloud
  • Experience in observability and monitoring tools and techniques
  • Exposure to processes in scope of the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework


Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience with one or more general purpose programming languages and/or automation scripting
  • Working understanding of public cloud
  • Strong knowledge of APAC Equities markets and electronic trading products and on FIX protocol and Order Management Systems
  • Strong analysis, problem solving and investigation skills
  • Excellent communication skills to confidently and clearly communicate at senior levels
  • Proven solid experiences working in Linux/UNIX environment and the ability to program in scripting languages
  • Fluency in Japanese Language is preferred as this role requires speaking with local vendors
