Job Description
Global payments are complex and constantly evolving, and at Checkout.com, our engineers tackle these challenges head-on. By developing next-generation payment technologies, we enable our merchants to boost acceptance rates, reduce costs, combat fraud, and create extraordinary digital experiences.
As a graduate software engineer, you’ll contribute to critical projects and have the opportunity to grow and learn across different teams and technologies. Whether you’re passionate about backend, frontend, or full-stack development, you’ll work alongside experienced engineers who share a commitment to building cutting-edge solutions that deliver real-world impact.
How you’ll make an impact

Design, build, and maintain scalable, high-performing systems using best practices in a microservices architecture.

Write clean, testable, and maintainable code for some of Checkout’s most impactful platforms.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, to solve real-world business challenges.

Stay up to date with emerging technologies and share your knowledge across the engineering community.

Operate and own the resilience and performance of the systems you develop.

Mentor and support peers while growing your own technical expertise.
Qualifications
What we’re looking for
You’re a curious, motivated, and innovative future engineer, either due to graduate in summer 2025 or having graduated within the last 12 months, who is excited to dive into the world of digital payments and technology. Here’s what you’ll bring to the team:

A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., .NET C#, Java, Python, or Go), with an understanding of core software engineering principles.

Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.

Experience with or enthusiasm for working in agile environments and delivering high-quality code on tight deadlines.

A passion for solving complex technical problems—independently and as part of a team.

Payments or financial knowledge is a bonus, but not required.

Recruitment timelines:
First and second round interviews will take place virtually throughout February and March 2025. Successful candidates will be invited to an in person assessment event at the end of March 2025.
