We are seeking an experienced Technical Writer (TW). In this role, you will assist the Government in executing technical writing functions.
This role resides in our Cyber department and reports to our Program Manager. This position is in the Ft. Meade, MD area with a 10% travel requirement.
SIXGEN supports cyber and intelligence missions by serving government and commercial organizations as they overcome global cybersecurity challenges. Our highly skilled operators conduct research and assessments based on real-world threats. We simulate adversaries and malicious actors to report details and actionable findings on critical assets and infrastructures. Our program planners advise mission owners to bring rapid solutions to intelligence mission leaders. Using innovative processes, tools, and techniques, we predict and overcome cybersecurity vulnerabilities. Our successes are supported by our diverse team of experienced, technical talent. Core Responsibilities:
- Perform analysis of program policies, missions, and practices, and provide feedback to the Government regarding the effects on operations
- Analyze operational practices and make recommendation regarding appropriate changes
- Create documentation in support of operations based on input from a variety of sources
- Maintain and update other related documentation
- Use standard tools such as Adobe, MS Visio, MS Project, MS Excel, Confluence, Jira;
- Perform technical editing related to grammar and formatting;
- Use word processing software and web collaborations platforms such as MS Word/Confluence to edit and deliver style guides, cross-references, and linked documents
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Applied Intelligence, Strategic Intelligence, English, Journalism, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Cyber Operations, Computer Networks, Cybersecurity, Information Security, Information Assurance, Technical Communication, and/or Network Administration
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in similar roles.
- Strong writing skills
- Familiarity with computer network operations and development
- Understanding of: MacOS, Linux, Windows, Solairs
- Understanding of CISO, Juniper, Huawei
- Understanding of VMWare cloud virtualization (ESXi/vSphere/Horizon
- Understanding of Linux KVM based cloud virtualization

At SIXGEN, we are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The anticipated salary range for this role is $120,000 - $132,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. This range reflects our compensation philosophy, which takes into account various factors including the candidate's relevant experience, education, skills, LCATs rates and position level, and market competitiveness. In addition to base salary, employees may be eligible for other forms of compensation to include our growth incentive program, incentives and benefits. The final salary offer will be determined after a thorough review of the candidate's background and alignment with the role. Please note that this range is subject to change and should be considered as a guideline rather than a definitive figure.
