We are looking for a Technical Writer responsible for creating and maintaining software documentation to support our operational teams working with RSI’s technology-driven solutions and features. This role focuses on collaborating with software engineering teams to understand RSI’s products, managing the documentation library, and ensuring high-quality, user-focused materials. The successfull candidate will leverage their background in IT or software development to effectively document complex systems and contribute to information architecture. This role also involves gathering usability feedback, establishing documentation standards, and supporting product teams in organizing knowledge bases. Experience in customer support or similar roles is a plus, as it helps align documentation with user needs and enhances collaboration with product owners.

Candidates from non-IT backgrounds are welcome to apply if they can demonstrate a solid understanding of software development or IT through freelance projects or similar experiences.

What you’ll do:

  • Produce high-quality user documentation that is technically accurate, appropriate for the target audience, and easy to use.
  • Study existing and new features developed by RSI, with a particular focus on understanding their technical underpinnings.
  • Communicate with teams responsible for designing and developing RSI’s products to understand product details, especially from a technical perspective.
  • Collaborate with technical and operational staff, including software developers.
  • Analyze and manage existing and potential user documentation of RSI’s products and features.
  • Review, revise, and edit documentation created by other RSI staff, ensuring alignment with IT-related standards and terminology.
  • Maintain the articles in RSI’s user documentation library.
  • Contribute to creating and maintaining the information architecture of user documentation.
  • Research and collect usability feedback from operational and technical staff.

All about you:

  • Excellent proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Experience in a documentation-related role, particularly in software development environments
  • Strong ability to convey ideas effectively in writing.
  • Ability to compose and analyze complex technical texts, diagrams, and instructions.
  • Familiarity with software development workflows or IT-related concepts is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with enterprise wiki systems (Atlassian Confluence preferred).
  • Strong research and problem-solving skills.
  • Collaborative attitude and good interpersonal skills.
