About the Role:  

 

Brooks Automation is a global leader in automation solutions, serving advanced technology markets such as semiconductor manufacturing. Our new greenfield manufacturing site in Johor Bahru represents our commitment to innovation, excellence, and local talent development. 

 

We are seeking an experienced Technical Writer to join our dynamic team at our Johor Bahru facility. In this role, you will create, manage, and maintain high-quality technical documentation that supports our semiconductor manufacturing processes and products. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in technical writing, particularly in a Manufacturing or Technology-focused environment. 

 

Work Location: Onsite - Johor Bahru 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation, including technical manuals, work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and training materials. 

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and quality assurance, to gather technical information and ensure documentation accuracy. 

  • Translate complex technical concepts into language and visuals accessible to a diverse audience. 

  • Standardize and update existing documentation to meet Brooks Automation’s guidelines and industry best practices. 

  • Ensure documentation complies with internal quality standards, regulatory requirements, and industry standards. 

  • Manage the documentation lifecycle, including version control, distribution, and archival processes. 

  • Support the development of training materials and other communication tools to enhance knowledge transfer within the organization. 

  • Other duties as assigned. 

 

Qualifications & Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Communications, Engineering, or a related field. 

  • 3-5 years of proven experience in technical writing, preferably within a semiconductor or manufacturing environment. 

  • Strong understanding of technical writing principles, standards, and best practices. 

  • Experience using Visual Factory and updating drawings in it. 

  • Proficiency in using documentation tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and other content management systems). 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. 

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. 

  • High attention to detail and a strong commitment to delivering quality work. 

  • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma principles is a plus.
