About us

Founded in 2017, Q-CTRL has grown to become the global leader in quantum control infrastructure software. As a product-led company, we bring together diverse teams such as product, design, engineering and research to help achieve our mission of making quantum technology useful. We believe that working in deep tech domains like quantum provides an opportunity to upskill whilst applying existing knowledge and practices to new markets.

As one of the fastest growing companies in the quantum sector, we’ve had a number of key milestones:

- In October 2024, we announced our record breaking expansion of our Series B funding round to USD $113M, with $59M USD of new capital.

- In November 2023, we announced an industry-first partnership with IBM Quantum Services, natively integrating our performance management software with all IBM quantum computers. Building off of this relationship, in September 2024 we started offering two services via IBM’s new Qiskit Functions Catalog as an inaugural partner.

- Designed and moved our Global HQ offices and lab space into the first purpose-built (and award winning) commercial and research facility for a quantum technology company in Australia.

- Grew our global presence in Los Angeles and Berlin, and expansion into the UK, recently opening up a new office in Oxford.

- Continued to deliver real world outcomes across the quantum sectors, with our work with Australian Defence on software-ruggedized quantum sensing for navigation without GPS, as featured in the New York Times.

From educating the workforce on how quantum computing works, and building the next generation of quantum sensors, to delivering massive performance gains for end-users, it all starts with hiring the right talent. If you want to help us build the Quantum future, read on.

About the role

Reporting to the Head of Product, this is a newly created opportunity to drive our technical content and communicate record-breaking achievements and value to customers. You’ll be a part of our world leading product team working closely with our key stakeholders across: quantum research & engineering, technology, design and marketing, responsible for our product led growth strategy.

What you'll be doing:

  • Own the Problem: Own the problem space, along with the opportunity and agency to solve challenges. You’re unafraid of the unknown and maintain a figure-it-out mindset.
  • Bring Teams Together: Drive product development, roadmaps, and go-to-market strategy with world-class engineers, designers, and marketers while upholding world-class development process and craft.
  • Outcomes over Output: Proactively iterate on features based on customer data, feedback, and technology and market trends, evolving the product and optimising for customer impact and the potential of the development team.
  • Build for Scale: Leverage expertise in product technology stacks to inform and guide development teams to build platform features at scale.

Ideally you'll have:

  • 2+ years software development, developer advocacy, or related industry experience.
  • Strong development and technical documentation experience. Open-source contribution is a plus.
  • Familiarity with quantum SDKs, programming frameworks, and experience working with real quantum hardware.
  • Familiarity with authoring software (Markdown, VS Code, etc) and version control systems, hosting platforms, and workflows (Git, GitHub, GitLab).
  • Excellent writing and communication skills for technical audiences.
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas, academic concepts, and software details to both developers and researchers.
  • Experience interacting and working with users directly. Empathy for tailoring technical information to their needs.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally with Research, Product, Engineering, and Marketing teams, translating the inputs from each team into value for users.
  • Fluency in quantum concepts.
