Amentum is now hiring a Technical Writer (Senior) position in support of Product Manager Force Protection Systems (PM FPS) and Product Manager Ground Sensors (PM GS) at locations both CONUS and OCONUS.  This project will provide PM FPS and PM GS a multitude of product support activities to include spares, warehousing/kitting management, maintenance, transportation, shipping, fielding, equipment operator training, contractor equipment operators, field support representatives (FSRs), systems sustainment and design engineering, and supplier or total asset visibility management of Integrated Base Defense (IBD) and Force Protection (FP) family of systems (FOS).Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Write and update material for reports, manuals, briefs, proposals, instruction books, catalogs, and related technical and administrative publications concerned with work methods and procedures, and installation, operation, and maintenance.
  • Study production, developmental, and experimental activities to determine operating procedure and detail.
  • Interview production and engineering personnel and read journals, reports, and other material to become familiar with product technologies and production methods.
  • Review manufacturer's and trade catalogs, drawings, and other data relative to operation, maintenance, and service.
  • Study blueprints, flowcharts, sketches, drawings, parts lists, specifications, mockups, and product samples to integrate and delineate technology, operating procedure, and production sequence and detail.
  • Organize material and complete writing assignment according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.
  • Review published materials and recommend revisions or changes in scope, format, content, and methods of reproduction and binding.
  • May maintain records and files of work and revisions.
  • May select photographs, drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts to illustrate material. May assist in laying out material for publication.
  • May arrange for typing, duplication, and distribution of material. May write speeches, articles, and public or employee relations releases.
  • Has experience in explaining highly technical data and information in simplistic grade school language for end users of complex IT systems and projects.
  • Able to use a variety of word processing, spreadsheet, graphics and scheduling tools.
  • Has experience in being able to gather and convert data into a written narrative.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must possess a bachelor’s degree.
  • Must have a minimum of 8 years in the development and editing of program CDRLs, technical documents, service agreements, and other documents related to the QRCs and Programs of Record.
  • Must have an Active SECRET US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to maintain a SECRET Clearance.
