What You'll Work On

As the Technical Training Supervisor, you'll have the opportunity to lead a team of Technical Training Specialists and Technical Trainers to ensure employees have the required knowledge and skills to perform the tasks of their role. You will maintain training records to meet internal and external compliance requirements and respond to audit requests as needed. This role is responsible for skill development and planning, designing and delivering training programs that make the best use of employee's current and future technical abilities.

  • Applies highly developed specialist knowledge and skills in the design, development and delivery of training programs, work with managers on learning needs of their staff through vehicles such as training needs analyses.
  • Source and evaluate third party training programs.
  • The Senior Specialist level role will typically be responsible for complex analysis of the training needs of employees to develop training programs that enhance their know-how, skills, and performance.
  • Design, resource, and deliver training programs, or recommend externally-provided programs, which meet the needs of individuals and are consistent with the organization’s overall training plan.
  • Counsel employees about the organization's training programs and policies and arrange for them to participate in internal and external training so the organization’s training resources are allocated effectively.
  • Maintain and analyze organization and individual training records in order to monitor the effectiveness of internal and external training programs.
  • Compile handbooks, manuals, guides, and other materials so training programs are delivered with high quality resources.
  • Responsible for on-the-job training process for Manufacturing which includes development of materials and oversight of process.  Partners with Manufacturing in execution of on-the-job training. 
  • Analyzes and reports training metrics.
  • Provides CRIACE leadership for the site
  • Keep abreast of developments and innovations in training and education in industry and government education sectors so the organization’s training activities remain current and relevant.
  • In addition, may be responsible for designing, resourcing and delivering larger, more complex training programs.
  • Provides daily guidance and direction to training personnel on task assignments and expectations.
  • Oversees the completion of training requirements for site employees.

You’ll be accountable for meeting our compliance standards including FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies and procedures.

Pay and Shift

This is a salaried position working Monday through Friday on day shift.  This roles supports a 24/7 manufacturing site. Flexibility in hours is required to provide as needed support to all crews and oversight of the Technical Training team.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma / GED required
  • 3+ years in a training or related fields
  • Leadership experience
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in training design and delivery
  • Analytical skills to make data-driven decisions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in relevant field
  • 2+ years of leadership experience
  • Proven working experience in project management and/or business process implementation

The base pay for this position is

$60,000.00 – $120,000.00

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
