Technical Support Engineer Adhesive and Composite (m/f/d)

To support our Advanced Materials division, we are seeking a Technical Support Engineer for our adhesives and composite market. This is a permanent, full-time, home-based position, covering key markets in Central and Northern Europe.

Reporting directly to the Sales Leader for Europe General Industry, you will manage a portfolio of technical requests and projects. In this role, you will gain a comprehensive understanding of market requirements while serving as a key interface for customers. With a strong focus on growth, you will collaborate closely with sales, marketing, quality, manufacturing, and development teams across Europe. Your contributions will not only promote our existing commercial range but also drive the definition, development, and launch of new products, ensuring they effectively address evolving market needs and enhance customer satisfaction.

As Technical Support Engineer Adhesive and Composite (m/f/d), you will:

  • Act as the primary contact for our customers, handling all technical inquiries and service requests related to our Distribution Network and for direct accounts within our adhesives and composites portfolio.
  • Lead technical discussions with internal stakeholders and customers on our adhesive and composite product range.
  • Promote new and existing products and technologies to distributor, customers and sales teams through customer visits, exhibitions, trainings.
  • Support the innovation pipeline by generating customer insights to define product profiles. Contribute to project follow up, validate technical outcome, and prepare launch packages.
  • Investigate product related complaints and coordinate with other functions (e.g. Technology & Innovation, Manufacturing etc.)
  • Actively contribute to various sales tools including Technical Data Sheets and support market/ technology watch.
  • Represent Huntsman in customer visits, projects meetings, congresses, trade fairs, publications etc.
  • Work in close collaboration with sales, marketing, communications and product development teams to follow up technical projects and coordinate with laboratory service request activities
  • Ensure that all activities adhere to Huntsman’s Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) principles, as well as its Ethics & Compliance requirements.

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in material science, chemistry, mechanical engineering.
  • At least five years of professional experience in an international environment in similar positions. Experience in specialty chemical industry is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of the market and products in the Composite and Adhesive industry is required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to pass clear and compelling messages at all levels within the organization but also with external stakeholders and customers.
  • Ability to combine technical knowledge with business development skills and customer interaction.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset; self-driven and highly motivated.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a team player attitude.
  • Fluency in English is a must; German and any other language is an asset.
  • Good IT and MS Office knowledge.
  • Ready to travel and work efficiently from a home office (around 30% travel activities).
