Kemper is seeking an experienced technical Project Manager to join our IT team to work on high visibility transformation projects.

Responsibilities

•             Manages schedules, budgets, resources and deliverables for one or multiple projects. Monitors teams to make sure goals and objectives are being kept. Knowledge of strategic vision and ensuring attainment of benefit objectives. Maintains standards and monitors scope with project quality.

•             Responsible for staffing and support of projects.  Manages, reviews, and prioritizes the project work plans with objective to stay on time and on budget

•             Develops, reviews and gains approval for the project plan and manages those deliverables according to the plan.

•             Provides status and progress reviews to Executive Sponsor and Steering Committee

•             May manage and supervise the project resources.

•             Manage vendor performance and contract compliance.

•             Conducts risk management analysis.  Brings issues to the Steering Committee as needed.

•             Mentoring of PMO group to improve overall level of performance

Qualifications

•             Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field or equivalent related experience.

•             8+ years’ experience with project management

•             Experience compiling financial project cost data, coordinating business requirements and managing feasibility studies, time/cost estimates.

•             Experience with process design, workflow analysis, re-engineering or other change management techniques whose purpose is to make and implement recommendations to improve effectiveness.

•             Experience with the Total Quality Management process and tracking.

•             Capable of providing leadership on $1-10M programs

•             Strong understanding of insurance industry preferred

•             Agile/Scrum experience a plus.

•             Experience with JIRA, Confluence, MS Project/Smartsheet and SharePoint a plus.

•             Current experience using JIRA, Confluence, Office 365

•             Auto insurance experience

•             Experience with Guidewire Policy Center and Billing Center

•             PMP or Certified Scrum Master Certification a plus

•             This is a hybrid position working 4 days in the Kemper office.

The range for this position is $95900 to $159700. When determining candidate offers, we consider experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location among other factors. This job is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and Kemper benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO, 401k, etc.)
