As the Subcontracts Technical Project Manager you will be responsible for critical interfaces between subcontract manufacturing partners, development engineering, operations, legal and supply chain. In this role, you will ensure smooth collaboration across time zones, effective communication, and the timely delivery of project milestones. A willingness to meet during off-normal business hours to accommodate vendor schedules is essential.
We are looking for candidates with strong project management skills, experience in global environments, and the ability to effectively manage cross-functional relationships.
Key Responsibilities:

Subcontractor Coordination:

Serve as the primary point of contact for major foreign subcontractor-related projects

Build and maintain strong, productive relationships with international vendors

Manage subcontractor performance, including quality, cost, and schedule adherence

Technical Alignment:

Lead regular team meetings between vendors and internal engineering experts, including during off-nominal business hours, to review progress, troubleshoot issues, communicate changes or urgent needs, as well as status updates

Proactively resolve issues and blockers to ensure timely collaboration between internal and external engineering, operations, legal and supply chain teams

Collaborate closely with internal engineering leads to ensure subcontractor outputs meet stringent technical requirements

Project Management:

Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and risk management strategies to ensure timely and successful project completion

Track project milestones and progress, manage dependencies, and provide regular updates to internal teams

Maintain detailed documentation of vendor communications, agreements, and project outcomes

Desired skills:
-
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field

Proven track record in project management, particularly with subcontractors or vendors in international settings

2+ years of prior experience in project management on a complex shipping product, preferably with hardware and software elements

Deep experience interacting with all elements of the Product Design and New Product Introduction process including design engineering stages, verification and validation, compliance, quality engineering, manufacturing logistics, and marketing

Excellent project management and communication skills. Be comfortable with scheduling, milestones, tracking, and helping drive meetings to obtain consensus. Make 1-1 connections with staff, understand the big picture, and communicate that out to project stakeholders.

Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g. Smartsheets, Microsoft Project, JIRA):

Comfortable facilitating meetings with both internal teams and external vendors, including ability to navigate cross-cultural nuances effectively, particularly when working with Korean partners
