What we need
We are seeking a highly motivated Technical Program Manager who has experience managing complex, high integrated software systems. Your primary goal will be to manage the test planning and execution for large system software deployments and collaborate with SQA, System Test, Dev Ops and Release Management teams to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of software releases for automation and robotic systems.
What we do
The Technical Program Management Office (PMO) oversees the planning, execution, and delivery of technical projects within the Symbotic engineering organization. The technical PMO team is responsible for handling reporting, communication, and stakeholder management across company functions and up through organization leadership. Technical PMs work closely with engineering teams to define project scope, schedule, and budget. The team is actively involved throughout the entire project lifecycle collaborating with engineering teams to ensure successful technology insertion, deployment into production, and overall sustainment support.
What you’ll do

Lead multidisciplinary development and test teams to bring new software releases and features through the software development lifecycle.

Work closely with engineering managers and leads, product managers/owners, to develop detailed test plans, ensure rapid execution of testing campaigns and deliver on time, high quality software releases. Interact with and motivate talented engineering teams across multiple locations, harness their high energy to deliver high quality products

Manage test requests, test execution tracking and issue identification across engineering teams.

Collaborate with SQA, Release Management and Dev Ops teams to advance infrastructure and tools that support end-to-end simulation and test capability.

Foster a culture focused on transparency, speed of decision-making, and a synchronized partnership within product teams

Manage cross-functional issue tracking to identify problems, track root-cause and corrective action plans; provide issue status across engineering teams and leadership

Lean-focused, continual improvement of new standards, processes and procedures that streamline interactions and communication across teams

Facilitate cross-functional meetings and regularly communicate initiative status to teams, senior management, and customers
What you’ll need
-
BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, Mechatronics, or related discipline. MS or MBA beneficial.

Minimum 8 years of related experience

Minimum 2 years in a Program Management position

Extensive experience in a highly integrated software systems, mechatronics, or robotics product development team

Experience managing large-scale system integration and test programs for complex electro-mechanical or automation systems

Previous experience developing and executing strategies for software development, continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines

Experience developing, maintaining and executing integrated simulation platforms to support system design and evaluations in an agile development environment

Willingness to fail quickly and fail often to succeed sooner when exploring solutions

Exemplify being the Team player. Conflict resolution and influencing skills are a key to success

Open to pursuing multiple paths to get to the best solution and not being too proud of your own ideas to listen to others

Excellent communication and presentation skills

Experience negotiating resources in a matrix environment to work on multiple workstreams, setting clear priorities when juggling priority paths

Proficient in JIRA, MS Project, MS Power Point, MS Excel, Word, and Visio

PMP accreditation is a strong plus
Our Environment

Up to 5% travel may be required. Employees must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.

The employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses personally to be reimbursed on a bi-weekly basis.
