Technical Product Owner
About the Role:
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Technical Product Owner to join our team at Mastercard. This role is pivotal in supporting the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) flow for all our software engineers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development within the SaaS space, coupled with extensive experience in DevOps or DevSecOps practices.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and prioritize product features and user stories.
• Ensure the successful implementation of core technical products that enhance the SDLC flow.
• Work closely with Scrum teams, attending Scrum ceremonies, ensuring the team understands the value they deliver and in the correct priority order.
• Write clear and concise features and user stories that align with product management best practices and deliver value.
• Understand and address the needs and challenges of software engineers, providing solutions that improve efficiency and productivity.
Qualifications:
• Around 15 years of experience in software engineering and product ownership.
• Strong background in SaaS development with a focus on DevOps or DevSecOps practices.
• Proficiency with tools such as Bitbucket, Jenkins, GitHub, GitHub Actions, and Artifactory.
• Good understanding of containerization concepts and their applications.
• Knowledge of deployments to VMs and tools like Chef, Chef Habitat, and Ansible.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a knack for understanding the problems before attempting to solve them.
• Strong experience with Agile Scrum practices and ceremonies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of delivering innovative solutions.
• Demonstrated experience in managing product backlogs, prioritizing tasks, and ensuring alignment with product goals.
• Proficiency in writing detailed user stories and defining acceptance criteria.
• Fair understanding of how applications written in Java SpringBoot, Python, Go, .NET/C#, Rust, etc., are built and deployed using DevOps practices.
• Familiarity with the mobile apps DevOps, from building to deploying apps to the AppStore and PlayStore.

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
