The Global Business Unit Tech@Lilly team is at the forefront of leveraging data and technology to launch new medicines to market, to raise awareness and to gain access to medicines for appropriate patients. As part of our commitment to improving patient outcomes, Customer Support Programs (CSP) play a critical role in patient care by helping patients get off to a good start by providing easy access to Lilly medicines, connecting them to vital support resources throughout their treatment journey. 

 

What You’ll Be Doing! 

As the Associate Director - Technical Product Owner for Data and Analytics within the Customer Support Programs (CSP) at Lilly, you play a critical role in harnessing data to enhance patient outcomes and streamline operations across various therapeutic areas. This senior position requires a strategic blend of technical expertise and business insight, empowering you to lead initiatives that leverage data-driven insights to improve operational efficiency and patient care. 

 

  • Strategic Leadership: Champion the development and execution of the data and analytics strategy, ensuring alignment with Lilly’s broader business objectives to enhance operational efficiencies and patient care. 

  • Product Ownership: Manage the lifecycle of analytics-driven solutions from ideation through deployment, effectively prioritizing the product backlog and translating complex business requirements into actionable technical specifications. 

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Serve as the primary interface between IT and business units, facilitating seamless integration of analytics solutions across platforms and departments, enhancing the overall data ecosystem. 

  • Innovation Advocacy: Spearhead the adoption of advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning within the analytics framework, pushing the boundaries of data capabilities and fostering innovation. 

 

How You’ll Succeed  

  • Be the go-to technical expert on our patient support programs (PSP) data & analytics technologies, including data onboarding and data quality 

  • Partner with key Field Reimbursement Managers, and Lilly Patient Services business partners to build transformation and technical roadmap for customer data, design solutions, and coordinate delivery of those solutions 

  • Anticipate and resolve key integrations / technical issues that impact our data systems 

  • Manage the tasks and activities involved with successful technology implementation 

  • Oversee and mitigate technological risks to make sure our solutions are stable and resilient 

  • Partner effectively with other Lilly IT teams (for example – IT Infrastructure, Telecommunication, & Enterprise Platforms) to deliver continuous improvement. 

  • Lead the team of Technical Leads, Data Engineers and other cross-functional team members to ensure a cohesive approach to product development. 

What You Should Bring 

  • Proven track record in IT project delivery 

  • Proven ability to influence complex business/technical decisions 

  • Ability to communicate effectively with IT teammates and present to business stakeholders 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to build networks/partnerships with a diverse group of teammates around the globe 

  • Effective analytical & problem-solving skills  

  • Strong learning agility and ability to work in ambiguity 

  • Data Modeling/Data Engineering/Software Engineering Experience 

 

Basic Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related technical field 

  • 6+ years of IT experience 

  • Experience leading a team of data engineers and managing deliverables with senior business stakeholders 

  • Experience with the technical architecture associated with databases and analytics environments 

  • Experience in development or deployment on cloud infrastructure – AWS or Azure preferred 

 

Desirable Skills:  

  • Experience working in Agile methodologies such as Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) 

  • Experience working in a regulated industry – pharmaceutical preferred 

  • Experience working with patient or consumer data 

  • Experience with business intelligence / data visualization solutions such as Tableau or PowerBI 

  • Familiar with AI/ML concepts such as LLMs, NLP/NLG and predictive/prescriptive modeling 

  • Able to act as change agent and to take ownership of issues or opportunities until a proper solution is implemented
