Job Description
- Understand company vision/goals and work with platform leaders to define common platform product strategy.
- Collaborate with product leaders, engineering leadership, and internal stakeholders for inputs for product strategy and roadmap; get buy-in and commitments and manage expectations.
- Manage research, evaluation, execution, and introduction of microservice opportunities, API strategies, application-to-application integration improvement, etc.
- Collaborate with key people from our business team and management to capture requirements and determine priority for engineering teams at the group level.
- Own multiple projects in accordance with goal planning and ensure it s delivery on time through frequent sprint releases.
- Work on the requirement documentations, strategy and planning related activities.
- Work closely with engineering teams, give detailed walkthroughs to engineering, do design discussions in line with specifications.
- Drives technical solutions for large features/technically complex features independently.
- Utilize data and metrics to measure success, make recommendations, and drive actions.
- Identify and evaluate new vendors or suppliers as needed.
- Sprint planning, Sprint reviews, identify potential spillovers and communicate to downstream consumers.
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience in product management and 3 years of experience in technical product management.
- Excellent product and structured thinking, problem solving skills and ability to build the long term product vision and short term milestones
- Experience and understanding of backend services, APIs, and microservice architecture.
- Experience creating functional and technical specifications.
- Strong technical background and ability to contribute to architectural and infrastructure discussions.
- Ability to understand technical details and explain them to non-technical audiences.
- Leader who can collaborate, evangelize and drive adoption of solutions.
- Can face ambiguity and handle conflicts.
- Ability to host meetings and strong stakeholder management.
- Proficient in written and verbal communication skills.
- Should have excellent presentation and documentation skills
- Self motivated to roll up the sleeves to deep dive into a problem and come up with a solution.
Additional Information
As a Technical Product Manager, you will be responsible for collaborating with the business and engineering teams to build common products across the Carousell Group or for an individual platform. This role needs someone with strong experience on stakeholder management, ability to build product strategy and think through GTM plans for both internal facing and external facing technical products. This person needs to go into depth of product requirements and help technical teams to understand them. Your job will also be to understand the various integrations between applications, partners, vendors and others.
