KBR’s Aviation & Ground Systems Directorate provides Systems Engineering & Integration support to the Army’s Aviation and Ground soldiers with project based and full-time personnel support services. KBR sets the standard with a wide range of services including Government Engineering, Logistics, Business, and international focuses, while ensuring customer satisfaction and providing excellence in contract deliverables.

Job Summary

KBR is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Illustrator familiar with utilizing Visual Mockup (CREO or SolidWorks) to pull CAD Data, formatting in Adobe Illustrator to create illustrations using create illustrations for Military manuals, that include Material Work Order (MWO), Operator, Field Maintenance and Repair Parts and Special Tools List (RPSTL) manuals.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Creating CGM graphics from engineering drawings.
  • Working with provisioning to provide item numbers for parts. Creating RSPTL drawings from Engineering Drawings and Provisioning data. May include CAD data from CREO or SolidWorks or building from sketches.
  • Working with technical writers to create graphics for maintenance tasks​.
  • Create illustrations for Military manuals, that include Material Work Order (MWO), Operator, Field Maintenance and Repair Parts and Special Tools List (RPSTL) manuals. Duties include cleaning up photos (jpeg) in Photoshop, utilizing Visual Mockup (CREO or SolidWorks) to pull CAD Data, formatting in Adobe Illustrator to create illustrations using MIL-STD-40051-2B military standards.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 2 years related experience. In lieu of formal education, 10 years of experience in the Technical Publications field, preferably U.S. Army.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to read blueprints/engineering drawings.
  • Knowledge of military STD
  • Photoshop skills – photo editing skills need to be added to requirements.
  • Candidates must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain a Security Clearance.
  • Must be able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC).

Preferred Experience:

  • Must have knowledge and understanding of U.S. Army Technical Publication functions using U.S. Army practices and guidelines.
  • Experience with the preparation of varied types of technical documentation for ground combat and watercraft systems which provide technical guidance for the operation, evaluation, maintenance, and repair parts support.
  • Preferred knowledge working with Adobe Acrobat Pro, Microsoft Office Suite software, and XML development authoring applications.
