Key Responsibilities
· Manage the full product lifecycle from design through production, ensuring fit and construction integrity.
· Define garment fit specifications and create detailed spec sheets for tech packs.
· Identify fit issues with precision and provide clear, actionable feedback both verbally during fittings and in detailed written fit comments.
· Lead fit sessions from 1st prototype through pre-production, ensuring consistency across all product categories.
· Oversee grading across all classifications to maintain sizing consistency.
· Execute pattern corrections and create technical sketches using Adobe Illustrator.
· Maintain and refine block libraries, fit standards, and construction guidelines.
· Track workflow, maintain WIP reports, and ensure all deliverables are met on schedule.
· Collaborate daily with factories to address garment engineering challenges and improve construction efficiency.
· Adhere to strict timelines, ensuring alignment with production and design calendars.
Qualifications & Experience
· 4-5 years of experience in Technical Design or a related field, specializing in Ready-To-Wear apparel.
· Experience working with off-shore factories and a deep understanding of manufacturing processes.
· Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, with a minimum of 3 years creating technical sketches and pattern corrections.
· Strong understanding of textiles, fabric performance, and how material properties (e.g., stretch, recovery) impact garment fit.
· Pattern making experience is a plus and an understanding of garment construction principles is preferred.
· Ability to illustrate pattern corrections using drawing software.
· Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Technical Design, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
Skills & Competencies
· Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Illustrator for sketching and technical drawings.
· In-depth knowledge of production processes, garment costing, and construction techniques.
· Strong understanding of textiles and fabric properties related to garment fit and performance.
· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey fit comments clearly.
· Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
· A problem-solving mindset with the ability to proactively address production and engineering challenges.
