The Walt Disney Company and Epic Games are collaborating on an all-new games and entertainment universe.

Epic Games is looking for a Technical Designer to join our dynamic team. We are a new and growing team at Epic, aiming to build innovative new experiences and technology as part of our collaboration with Disney. Game designers at Epic are a part of a cross-discipline development team that owns the vision and drive to create innovative features and content which expand the Fortnite universe.
In this role, you will
- Design AI focused features for the Disney universe
- Craft high quality, player-facing NPC behaviors using behavior trees and visual scripting
- Create quick prototypes to try out and demonstrate new ideas in game
- Tightly collaborate with programming while we implement cutting edge technology
- Cooperate with other designers on our team to define and promote a cohesive vision for AI in our project
- Use playtest feedback to iterate and improve NPC features
- Create and maintain clear and concise design documentation
What we're looking for
- Experience shipping multiple AAA titles as a Designer
- Experience developing AI for a highly systemic environment
- Experience creating behavior trees and using visual scripting
- A creative approach that can surprise and amaze players with new ideas and experiences
- Talent for empathizing with players and a deep understanding of player motivations
- Team player with good communication skills (verbal and written)
- Experience with creating believable non-player characters is a plus
- Experience with dynamic narrative systems in games is a plus
