Technical Consultant

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and proactive Technical Consultant with strong expertise in SQL, system integration, and grocery retail technology. This role requires leadership skills, initiative, and the ability to drive projects to completion while working with both technical and business teams. The ideal candidate will possess deep retail industry knowledge, particularly in grocery operations, and will play a key role in implementing, integrating, and optimizing retail systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead technical projects from inception to completion, ensuring successful integration and implementation.
• Set up and manage DEV, TEST, and PROD environments both in-house and at customer sites.
• Take ownership of system integration initiatives, connecting NCR systems with third-party retail solutions.
• Develop and optimize SQL Server databases, including views, stored procedures, SSIS packages, and performance tuning.
• Utilize JavaScript and PowerShell to automate processes, enhance system performance, and streamline operations.
• Provide expert-level support for Windows Server environments, including IIS and MSMQ.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, developers, and retail clients, to define and implement system solutions.
• Plan and execute data conversions and migrations from legacy or third-party systems to NCR systems.
• Lead testing, validation, and quality assurance efforts for system enhancements and integrations.
• Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing strategic insights and recommendations based on retail best practices.
• Take initiative to identify and resolve issues proactively, ensuring minimal business disruption.
• Drive process improvements and document best practices to enhance system efficiency and reliability.
   

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Expert-level SQL knowledge, including MS SQL Server, relational databases, stored procedures, views, and SSIS package development.
• Strong system integration experience, connecting enterprise retail systems with third-party solutions.
• Proficiency in JavaScript and PowerShell scripting for automation and administration.
• Strong understanding of Windows Server environments, including IIS and MSMQ.
• Grocery retail industry experience with knowledge of merchandising, pricing, promotions, and POS integrations.
• Ability to lead projects, drive initiatives, and collaborate effectively across business and technical teams.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
• Experience working in an Agile/SCRUM development environment.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
