The mission
We are looking for a Data Management Expert with passion for Data, knowledge and experience in technical analysis and data modelling for a project in data warehouse area.
You will be part of a Chapter of Data Modellers and Data Management Experts working for different entities of ING Group.
At the project level, you will be part of a multi-disciplinary cross border team (Business Analysts / Subject Matter Experts, DevOps engineers, Data Governance officers and Data Quality specialists). The objective is to enable the flow of data from the providers to end users on a Data Lake/Data Warehouse architecture.
Your day to day
- You understand the business need and translate it into business requirements, in collaboration with the stakeholders.
- You deliver and maintain analysis documents such as workflow diagrams and data models and contribute to metadata configurations, data quality, data lineage and data security documentation.
- You analyse customer data and actively support ING tribes and squad in the profiling, segmentation, and analyses of the customer base, considering the business requests.
- You configure the data management system, according to business requirements.
- You will support the initiative in the process of mapping Data Lake data structures to other data marts and systems. You will be responsible to technically map Data Lake data structures to the source system data and consumption-oriented data marts. This task implies a good understanding of Business context as well as of Data Modeling technique and ETLs development process.
- You design and develop tests, validate new or existing complex test methods and procedures; identify issues and recommend improvements to contribute to further development.
- You implement all mandatory security standards to ensure IT risk remains under control.
- You support DevOps engineers with functional knowhow during development or in order to fix production incidents.
- You are involved in the monitoring and support processes for our application and in resolving incidents in cooperation with the engineers that are focused on Ops activities in the squad.
- You contribute to the development of your squad by actively giving and receiving feedback, sharing knowledge and best practices, and mentoring less experienced colleagues.
What you bring to the team:
- Experience:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in analysing and defining business processes and requirements, create specifications and delivering complex projects;
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as technical/business/data analyst in banking industry: working with financial products and/or regulatory requirements;
- Strong understanding of Data Management and IT architecture areas;
- Strong understanding of Data Warehousing, Data Modelling, ETL processes, Business Intelligence;
- Very good knowledge of SQL and database concepts;
- Understanding of Entity - Relationship Data Modelling / Dimensional Data Modelling, being able to interpret logical and conceptual data models and able to explain these models in a natural language;
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing, to be able to align with various stakeholder;
Nice to have
- Experience as Solution Designer or Data Architect (architecture, planning & roadmap, solution definition, solution follow-up & guidance);
- Experience with data modelling methods and tools (like InfoSphere Data Architect, Power Designer etc.);
- Knowledge with the IBM’s BDW models.

Foreign languages: Proficient in English (verbal and writing);
