Get to Know the Team

Our team, comprising of APEX (Automation Platform Experience) and Data Tech units, is committed to providing comprehensive support to platform and development teams in their cloud engineering and developer tools journey.

Get to Know the Role

In Tech Infra, you will be reporting to our Tech Support Engineer Manager, you'll handle level 1 issues, fulfill requests, and support cloud infrastructure and developer tooling. Further you'll support platform engineering, developer tools, and data streams, catering to a diverse range of customers across Grab.

These roles are important for serving our large developer community and managing complex tools and automation requirements. You'll contribute to large-scale data infrastructure and advanced data automation, use monitoring tools to track system metrics and minimize disruptions, collaborate with teams to optimize system performance, conduct post-incident reviews for process refinement, and maintain a dynamic dashboard using SuperSet and Google Data Studio(GDS).

This office is based in Petaling Jaya and hybrid working.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• You will manage the knowledge platform, serve as an escalation point for Grab's data platform, and provide big data technologies to teams.
• You will support automation and monitoring tools within the Kubernetes ecosystem, and assist in developing technical roadmaps.
• You will engage in incident management, cater to real-time data needs, and prioritize self-service and automation.
• You will work with the infrastructure team to build services, conduct analysis, and enforce security and compliance procedures.
• You will aid the developer community, emphasize automation, and work with the security team to incorporate needs into automated guardrails.
• You will design new configurations for cloud resource use, respond to Tech Monitoring alerts, investigate issues, and determine escalation needs.

Qualifications

What Essential Skills You Will Need

• We're looking for someone who has been a DevOps or DevSecOps practitioner with experience operating production services in cloud environments, with 2+ years of experience in software engineering within a distributed systems environment.
• We are looking for working knowledge of multiple databases and big data process engine systems like Hive, Spark, Presto, Kafka, or Apache Flink, along with proficiency in at least one of the programming languages Java, Scala, Python, or Go.
• You are experienced with monitoring tools and experience with log management tools such as Elastic Search, PagerDuty, Splunk.
• You have working experience using GitLab for version control and a genuine experience with cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and automation, demonstrated through exploration and experimentation with new products.
• You are well versed in micro-service architectures and willingness to work on-call shift and respond to incidents outside of regular business hours.
• You are proficient in writing efficient SQL queries, experience with reporting tools, and experience working with one or more cloud environments, with a preference for AWS or Azure.
