The Capital Markets Department’s fixed-income team is developing rapidly and working on innovative initiatives as part of its modernization. A stimulating environment with abundant learning and collaboration opportunities awaits you. As Java Tech Lead for the maintenance squad, more specifically, you will be required to:

Manage the technical aspect of the squad’s deliverables.

Lead across sectors and serve as a development specialist on several topics related to application corrections, obsolescence and maintenance.

Develop and update codes and pair programming to help developers progress.
-
Help squad members solve technical issues.
-
Make sure that the squad’s development framework complies with Desjardins’s standards (pipeline rollout, code source deposit, etc.).

Monitor the quality of work delivered by the squad.
-
Analyze and escalate technical development issues that may affect delivery.
-
Mentor new members, as well as junior and less experienced squad members.
-
Take part in the Tech Lead alignment board.
-
Act as a leader in software component design.
-
Monitor development technologies and practices and share best practices and methods with the team.

Identify opportunities for optimization and solve complex problems.

Help support non-production and production environments.
-
Be available to provide 24/7 ecosystem application rotation support.

What you bring to the table

Bachelor's degree in a related field
-
A minimum of six years of relevant experience in Java development, in a tech lead role
-
Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered

Experience managing teams of developers and making technical decisions

Experience working with multidisciplinary teams using agile methodologies like SCRUM/Kanban
-
Experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC and Spring Core

Knowledge of French is required

Knowledge of WebSphere, Oracle databases and MySQL
-
Knowledge of GitHub, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Postman and Concourse
-
Knowledge of Agile practices: Scrum and its tools (Jira, Confluence)

Expertise in Java development
