About your future job

Within the Mission Systems segment, responsible for developing integrated systems for naval vessels, we are looking for a team manager to lead our Systems Engineering team in Delft. The focus in this role is on the day-to-day management of the team of professionals (5-10 FTE today), further growing the team and developing the business in line with the business line's strategy.  Your main location is at our Delft office. At the same time, you have short communication lines with your colleagues at the main office in Hengelo and know how to build a bridge between these locations.

Your core responsibilities are:

- Team management:
you are responsible for leading the Systems Engineering team, including planning, organizing and directing the work. You coach and mentor team members and ensure a positive and productive working environment. You are a star in developing team members' skills through training, feedback and mentoring.

- Business development:
you actively contribute to business development by translating strategy into practical opportunities for growth in Delft, in consultation with internal stakeholders. You know how to identify opportunities and translate them into concrete proposals.

- Project management and result-oriented work:
you steer your team to execute projects according to agreed timelines, budgets and quality standards. In doing so, you ensure that your team guarantees the technical quality of the delivered systems and complies with relevant technical standards and legislation. You initiate operational improvement processes and cooperation within the team.

- Stakeholder management:
you act as a liaison between the Mission Systems segment, the Above Water Systems business line, and other internal stakeholders to achieve shared objectives.

- Strategy and Innovation:
you contribute to the long-term strategy of the business line by bringing in insights from the team and market demand. You will support the creation and implementation of innovative solutions and drive technological progress within the team.

Why you'd be a good match

  • You have proven experience in people management, team management in a highly technical environment and are able to understand the challenges the team is dealing with;
  • you have a Bachelor or Master degree in Engineering or equivalent and are experienced in System Engineering (Requirements Engineering, Model Based Systems Engineering and Product engineering);
  • you are a motivated person who has a proven track record in the Engineering and Project domain, demonstrating the principles of ownership;
  • you are target driven, result oriented and able to coach your team members;
  • you will set the direction, provide energy and connect with your team and stakeholders;
  • you are proactive, take the initiative, manage the expectations and are a solid reporter
  • you are an excellent communicator and fluent in spoken and written Dutch or English
