Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Bilingual (Spanish) Production Team Leader to join our Huntington, Indiana plant. The ideal candidate will assist the supervisor in directing and coordinating production activities, working personally and through hourly associates to ensure efficient operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities:
- Lead safety efforts in the assigned area.
- Ensure the health and well-being of associates.
- Follow all facility safety and environmental requirements.
- Perform daily audits of PP&E usage.
- Report unsafe conditions immediately to the Supervisor/Manager or Safety Representative.
- Review work practices, ensuring operators follow Work Instructions and Standardized Work procedures.
- Maintain desired Takt rate, assisting operators and identifying problems causing delays.
- Use the help chain if unable to resolve issues.
- Monitor hourly count boards to ensure goals are met.
- Note reasons for any shortfall and implement countermeasures.
- Support departments with operating materials to ensure uninterrupted task performance.
- Train and develop associates to perform Standardized Work and meet Takt rates consistently.
- Perform root cause analysis on quality defects and eliminate problems.
- Use the help chain if necessary and follow up on corrective actions.
- Lead and enforce the “first piece quality verification process” as needed.
- Report major issues, resource or equipment needs, and customer or supplier issues to the Supervisor.
- Support TS16949 and ISO 14001 initiatives.
- Participate in process improvement for safety, quality, and environmental objectives.
- Manage shift startup in assigned areas.
- Communicate with hourly associates, fostering a team environment.
- Provide necessary information on internal or external issues.
- Perform various tasks assigned by the Supervisor and/or Manager.
- Contact Supervisor and/or Manager for reassignment if the team is out of work.
- Provide feedback on associates’ performance to the Supervisor.
- Assist the Supervisor in giving corrective action to associates.
- Review shop floor with the previous shift team leader and ensure any issues are corrected.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in compression molding, paint, or parts assembly preferred (depending on the position).
- Must maintain 3 or fewer attendance points.
- Must be fluent in both English and Spanish.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED desirable
